Here's my page for Erika's VSBN challenge. We had 3 parts to the challenge - use stamps, use her sketch, and journal. her sketch only had one photo but I couldn't possibly follow her journal challenge questions with out including some visuals! ;-)
My journaling reads: On Christmas Eve, we get together with MumÂ’s family. That has always been a tradition in the Wenzel and Wold families, going right back to their days in Germany and Norway. When Mum and Uncle Brad and Uncle Kevin first moved out to their own places, it was always at the house we all grew up in. But as time passed, and Grandma and Papa moved to a smaller place and our family grew, we started to have our family gathering in other homes. This year it was at our house.
Some things never change. There are always a few close up photos taken on MumÂ’s camera by Uncle Brad and Uncle Kevin of their faces and/or up their nostrils. Darren is always making funny faces for the camera. ItÂ’s always really loud and crazy. Grandma always makes her special fruit salad and brings dessert. This year, she canÂ’t believe she totally forgot to make lefse!
You were more interested in the whole present thing for the first time this year. Way back in November when we first started talking about Christmas and trying to help you understand what was going on, we talked about getting presents. Without even a second to think, you announced that you were getting a turntable present. In the afternoon, you and Mum drove to Grandma’s to pick her up, and then you had decided there was a bull dozer in one of the presents under the tree. A few times that evening when Caitlyn and Darren mentioned presents, you told them that you were getting a bull dozer. You never actually found a bull dozer – most were trains – but on Christmas Day you did get a “Biffie” garbage truck and an excavator so you forgot about them for a while.
After we had dinner and finally (according to Caitlyn and Darren) got around to open the presents, you opened the first one and had to play with it. We had to keep reminding you, as you opened each present, that you had more to go. At one point you decided that they were all going to be train presents. This train obsession is new this year. You were just starting to become interested in trains last Christmas. And although we bought you a train table for Christmas last year, we didnÂ’t actually get it until early January.
I think I need a new scanner - that BG PAPER IS REALLY KIWI KISS!!!

I love your page and just like Erika I like the pages that tell a story. Your journaling is awesome and you really captured the things that were different about an event that happens every year! Great Job! tfs
