The second challenge of the January Mini “Crush” VSN was to make a card using the burned batik method. This is a very simple yet lovely technique. You can find Beate Johns excellent tutorial here: Burned Batik Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I didn't want to add much to this card in terms of an image that would detract from the lovely background - this was one time when I wanted to make the background the focus. I used the same technique to stamp the sentiment and then embellished with this absolutely extravagant but gorgeous ribbon and a few beautiful little roses leftover from another project.
