This is my card for today's inspiration challenge. I loved all the black and white checks, but couldn't come up with an idea to use them. I went with this little bag for a cell-phone - http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/imag.../ME_P13234.jpg .
I haven't quite carried out my original idea, but for the moment this will do.
I used a very pale green pearlescent card base. Then I took a piece of the back of a pad of paper cut a bit smaller, and covered it with blue silk dupion. For the flower I cut five petals from some handmade paper, and curled them slightly and glued them together at the centre. The orange bit is a length of organza ribbon which I gathered with a needle and thread and pulled up into a ruff. Then I just added a brad which I covered with Glossy Accents and then gold micro-beads. Two leaves cut from mulberry tissue and crimped, and that was it. As I said, not quite what I had in mind, but I'm coming down with a cold and creativity is at a low ebb. I'd like to try this again.
Thanks, Stef, for the challenge, and Anne for suggesting it.
I see, now I look at my original again, that I should have had an orange centre and gold ribbon. Oh well - I always was aiming for a Pheasant's Eye Narcissus, not any old jonquil

Sabrina, I hope you get feeling better. I don't know what you had in mind when you started this card, but I love the result. The stitching on the paper is fabulous. I love how you have the orange ribbon and the gold center. Your crimped leaves are the finishing touch. It is a beautiful card. I love the touch of spring.
