"Vintage" and “Modern” Country Snow Couple Postcards
These are the third and fourth of four holiday post cards I made for Darlene PavlickÂ’s challenge (see her blog for all of the information here: http://darscraftycreations.blogspot.com/) as part of the celebration at No Time to Stamp. Sharon Johnson is celebrating her blogÂ’s one millionth visitor!
Darlene has come up with an economical way to send holiday greetings – post cards – and challenged visitors to her blog to make some.
I love this image, which I had not yet used for a holiday card. I made two versions of this card, one a more “vintage” one on Basic Grey paper, and one more contemporary on white card stock.
After coloring, I stamped snowflakes on to the vintage version and added some additional snowflakes and sponged the contemporary version and washed it with iridescent medium to give the entire card a shimmery finish.
Stamps: Country Snowfolk (A Country Welcome); greeting from “Holiday Wishes”, Volume 1. No. 15 (Papertry Ink); Snowflake from “Winter Song” (Oxford Impressions); Snowflakes from Snowflake Serenade, Vol.1 No. 20 (PapertreyInk);
Accessories: “Vintage” Mica and Pigment Watercolor Paints (MicaColor, USA Quest); Winsor and Newton Irridescent Medium (watercolor); Pearl white acrylic paint.

These postcards are JUST darling -- I so love that birdhouse on the pole with the twining vines -- what a great job - so glad you could play Darlene's fun challenge!!!
