I am ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS looking for ribbon storage ideas for my oodles and oodles of ribbons. I recently went with a dear friend to a stamping weekend retreat and a gal there had this plastic "briefcase" by Cropper Hopper and showed it to us for her ribbon/embellishment storage. My friend and I immediately fell in love!
I purchased this Cropper Hopper Embellishment Holder (about 9 x 11.5 - if you close the lid and flip it over - there is a section about 1/2 inch deep that you could store 8.5 x 11 paper or other thin things in). It cost $12.99 at Archiver's and I used my 30% off coupon so it was $9.09!!!!
The little embellishment boxes come in 3 sizes. They are little plastic boxes intended to hold ribbon or embellishments. They have a white sticker on the top so you can right what you have inside. The little boxes sell 4 large ones for $4; 6 medium width ones for $4 or 12 thin ones (holds your ribbon up to 1/2 inch wide) for $4. I found these boxes at Archivers - but they only carry the thin and large - not the middle. I found a local stamping store that carries the middle. If you search online for "Cropper Hopper Embellishment Boxes" you'll find plenty of places on line that sell them for $3.50/$4.00 a set.
I love this because it is very compact - very easy to see what you have and very easy to pull out the ribbon you need - cut it - and be done. No re-rolling your ribbon or digging around to even find it!
Of course, the time consuming thing is rolling your ribbon up and placing it in the boxes .... but turn on a good movie or two....settle down with your embellishment boxes and ribbon and roll away!!
Hope this helps a few of you out there looking for a ribbon storage/embellishment storage idea!!!
