well, Roxie, the sketches with symmetry always give me fits...that is staying inside the box and coloring in the lines in my mind! But I had to do this challenge, so here's my somewhat geometric offering!
I knew right away the center of my card would be this fabulous image from Artistic Outpost from a set called 'Christmas Stories'. It is my childhood all over again with a 60's feel. I inked the image on Neenah smooth white with VersaFine Olympic Green. The stamp in the upper right hand corner is also part of the set. It is from an actual postage stamp dated 1962. I used VersaFine Onyx Black for this and cutting it out with the Martha postage punch. It is mounted on a button to raise it slightly. My attempt at staying in the boxes are the faux stitches from Starving Artstamps. I used a feather stitch inked with Adirondack stream and a straight stitch in Heritage timeless Sepia. My rectangles are cut from Brenda Walton embossed Christmas paper and the snowflake ef in white and I used the debossed side, inking over the top with Brilliance Sky Blue pearlescent. My ornaments are cut from a new pad of BG Christmas papers I found at Michaels yesterday, called Mistletoe and Pear. I embossed these in clear and added bling to the bottom left one. The card base is from the Brazzill Christmas 'made' to go with the BG!
So I'd love to know how you feel about sticking your toe or hands over the line...do you like symmetrical sketches or are you more of a rebel, like me? Thanks for your comments.

Oh Susan, I remember sitting with my Mom and reading about Santa just like this! I think you ALWAYS stay in the lines, they are just 'Susan' lines! Wonderful, wonderful card.

Spectacular, Susan! I love this vintage image and how you embellished with the ornaments.
To answer your question (see, I DO read the narratives--hee!), I admit to being a perfectionist and having to be "inside" the lines. Love you rebels, though, and envy you your creative spirit!!

I am probably more of a rebel like you but try to stay under the radar, part of my *middle child training* I am sure! Wonderful as can be and yes I too love the sixties feeling and the nostalgia of childhood that you evoke with this complex and beautiful creation!

OMG!! I love this. Wasn't too sure about doing the sketch either but after seeing your card, I just might have to give it a try. Love, love, love your card!

I love what you did with today's sketch, Susan! The main image is so beautiful and nostalgic! The debossed background and pretty ornaments bring so much dimension! Wonderful colors and papers, as always!
