Made this card for my oldest son's birthday. My son's rarely show excitement over the cards I make but Todd actually seemed to appreciate the effort in making this card. WOW! I had a second wonderful moment when the fruit pizza I made for his birthday was totally awesome. I am not very good at baking and I cringe when asked to bake something because my past failures roll through my mind. This wonderfully baked item actually melted in your mouth.
Now the card..... I have loved this stamp since I first saw it a couple of weeks ago on splitcoast. My son's are avid hunters and this was perfect. My cracked glass cracked a wee too much though and looked as though it would fall apart if touched. It made it through the handling at the party so I was pleased. My family is not as sentimental as I am so I know it will see the recycle bin soon but it was a hit at the party. The camera flash made part of the picture show white and after several attemps, I decided to live with it. I stamped image and then filled in the water, boat and hunter with colored pencils. Masked the hunter and water line and sponged various su stamp pads to make the sunset. This was my first sunset and it was fun - yeah right!!! Scared the whole time. My sister, mutnik, can do these in her sleep. I distressed the edges and embossed the sentiment on the side.
Thank you for looking.....

Sputnik, I am thoroughly beside myself over here! What a card, girl! Honestly, this is so fabulous with that cracked glass over that incredible image! Your sponged edges look too terrific with that cracked glass. Girl, all the cards I've seen today are extraordinary. you need to get in here much more often!

What a beautiful card for your son! I am sure he loved it and that sunset..wow. I have never tried a sunset but want to get into trying more things after Christmas when life settles down a bit. All your techniques came together to make a gorgeous creation.
