Went to one of my pools today and came face to face with a very large peacock! I guess he escaped from the nearby Zoo in Folsom. Glad he was friendly! By friendly I mean he didn't chase me! I was like two feet from him! He did go up to the customer's front door. I thought maybe he was just stopping by for a brief visit! LOL Boy are they ever colorful! I chose to use the deep blue on my card today because of Mr. Peacock. It reminds me of him...or her. I couldn't tell! So, here are my brief details....
Decided to flip the sketch today. Stamped and colored my images using Koh-i-noor color pencils and gamsol. I then versa marked and clear ep them.
Added the black and white border to my panels using my square stamp. I then versa marked and clear eb'd them.
Sponged the bg of my panels with bashful blue. Stamped and clear eb the sentiment. Cut out with a word punch and popped up.
The trees were stippled using a stencil from Stencilability. I then cut them out and doodled them. Popped up one of the trees.
The dark denim panel was paper pierced using a snowflake stencil and then I sponged the color on.
This card is a rarity for me because I actually left the edges white! I did this so the snowflake paper piercing would show up better. But, then I doodled the edges because I just couldn't help myself! LOL So there you have it, hope you like it.......TFL :0)

Poor Nutmeg: If you're not putting your hands where they dont belong, or if you're not trolling for leaves, its now meeting peacocks. Tell me, what zoo do you know of in Folsom? Maybe it was a prisoner's. Maybe his cellie got ticked off and let it loose. He's probably in ag seg right now as I write! You never know with you pool people. You and your stories. Poor Nutmeg! Despite all the harrowing challenges you find yourself in, you still managed to create a darling card.
Next thing you'll be writing about is the snow on top of the pool liners. Cant wait til I see that one. We all know it doesnt snow in Sacramento. The last time it snowed it was 1989....I know.... I was in Fair Oaks.

WOW-O_WOW!
This snowman is so darn cute Cathy,
So the peacock was a bit of a surprise!!! I can relate to this...I travel to Ireland frequently for the company I work for. One time I had some spare time and walked around Bunratty Castle (outside of Shannon)...sure enough perched on a 5ft wall was a peacock!
I was pretty impressed once I got over the shock of him being there.
LOL!

Barb

Cathy, I love your peacock blue. I was drawn right away to the checked borders of your panels. I also love the way you have the cardinal on the small and the large panels. My first thought when I read your story was, I hope she got one of the feathers. Maybe she can put it on a card somehow. I know twisted thinking. I can't help myself.

Cathy this stamp set is awesome. I love Plum Purdy. I so wish she would make more stamps. I think her whimsical style is awesome. Now if I could just paint like her and stamp like you I would be in fat city. Love the coloring. TFS... Maybe the chlorine was clouding your eyes and it was just a crow....LOL.

Your rollie pollie snowman it too cute! Love your peacock story! They are so pretty to look at, but they freak me out when we go to the zoo! It's like everytime you turn around they are right there, waiting for you to feed them! YIKES!
