This is for two challenges - the Verve Holiday Release Sketch Challenge (check out the Verve forum for more deets) - and for the colour challenge: Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red and Old Olive (I don't have the new in colours... boo hoo!). This is actually my second card for the colour challenge - is so perfect for Christmas and gives me a chance to use the oh-so-gorgeous Holiday Treasures DSP!
I decided to try to make a poinsettia with my existing Verve stamps. I know Julee's releasing a new set on Sunday... which no doubt I'll have to get! But I wanted to see if I could get creative with my current supplies, so voila! I stamped the flower from Thankful Blossoms in Ruby Red and watercoloured the white parts with Old Olive. I then stamped the smaller flower with RR and added touches of Bravo Burgundy to give some depth. I cut and layered two large and two small flowers and added a brad in the centre. Sentiment is from HOTP.
Thanks for looking!
