I made this for IC152, Don Li_Leger, based on the Aura tapestry here - http://imagecache5.art.com/p/LRG/18/...leger-aura.jpg.
I wanted to do Beate's sketch, but DH had had such a good time looking through ALL the pieces in the art.com gallery for Li-Leger, and some of the cards in the gallery last night, that he said I had to do the inspiration challenge today, LOL.
I've called it mix and match because I used stamps from all over everywhere.
In keeping with the style of the prints and tapestries I've stayed very simple.
The base is very dark brown/green Bazzill, a 6 1/2 by 9 1/4 inch piece folded in half. The 3 panels are all from the DCWV Asian stack, cut in 3 inch squares and with the corners rounded.
All 3 panels have Hero Arts Woodland Leaves and Grasses stamped in Versafine Olympia Green. The top 2 panels have a dragonfly from Aspects of Design Dragonfly Dreams, stamped in black. The flowers in the top panel are Penny Black Shower of Flowers without the mouse and the balloon. I stamped them with Versafine Black and coloured them with Brilliance Moonlight White and a water-brush.
The flowers on the middle layer are from a Kodomo Zigen Stamp, Jolly Sparrows (without the sparrows), again coloured with white Brilliance and also Orchid Pink. The edges of each panel are sponged with tone on tone colours in whatever inks matched.
And although I tried a couple of gems and things in corners, I decided this was a less is more stamp.
But would you put another dragonfly on the bottom square??

Sabrina, this is fabulous just as it is! Having 2 butterflys on 2 panels is creative genius! Love your paper and your tall card. Love the inspiration from DH, too!

Absolutely beautiful and it seems we went for almost the same inspiration piece and the same tall card! Fabulous colours on your panels and the stamps all look just perfect. I think you were right with the less is more.

I like it with just two (the base looks more like the ground and I think of them flying higher up in the air) ... gorgeous combination of colors and stamps ... so glad you and your DH had a good time checking out all of the IC creations ... they are amazing ... and your inspired card is amazing too.
