Sorry another Upsy Daisy card for the gallery. Lots of this set today. So, this card took me hours to make. And you are probably thinking why? it is a very simple and easy card. Well... my story. Me and my sewing machine have a long distance kind of relationship. My DH bought it for me last year because I really really wanted to take a quilting class which I did and I made a very pretty wall hanging quilt for Christmas. Well anyway I haven't touched the machine for a year because we didn't get along the first time so I decided sewing is not for me, but I wanted to try today to sew on a card and I was determined. Well to start I didn't even know how to change the color of tread. I am that bad. Took me hours to figure it out but I did and this is what came out of my hours on the machine. I didn't know what to do in the corner once I'm done stitching so there is a booboo on one corner. Oh well, I am sticking with faux stitching from now on. Thanks for looking.

Your card is pretty but your story is hysterical. I guess a sewing machine is a daunting challenge if you don't know what you're doing, so you had 2 challenges today. This is why home ec was a great subject in school; all girls learned the basics of sewing but I'm sure that's not a choice you even get in school anymore. I am so thankful I had that opportunity when I was in school. Glad you figured out how to change the thread and the bobbin presumably. Now that you know how, do it more often and you'll soon be an expert at that - then you can go on to the next step.

Lovely card! I am right there with you as I have a machine sitting in my craft room which has not been out of the box yet. I think you did a great job! TFS

What a great chocolate and dark red combination, with that little butterfly for a great colour accent.
Even as someone who has been sewing since I was about 5, you can't guarantee that the last stitch will end up where you want - but I think the look of real sewing is worth sticking with.

I think this is fantastic..boo boo in the corner and all with the stitching. Don't feel bad..I always admire the stitching on everyones card and I have a brand new sewing maching in the box never been opened haunting me.(Or is should say scaring me)!! Great job...I think this is just beautiful.
