I made this for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I was away for the weekend, but I just loved the sketch and had to give it a go this morning. It was based around the idea of using a "Just a Note" stamp with the bird - but when I tried it out the sentiment was too big for the sketch.
The bird is Hero Arts, stamped with black Versafine on watercolour paper. I masked it and stamped the rest of the circle with a Rhonna Farrer swirl in ColorBox Pigment Olive. I coloured the bird with Marvy Markers, and added drops of gold Liquid Pearls at the end of each swirl, and a line of Baby Blue around the edge.
The papers are all Provocraft Heritage Post. I used some left-overs from Friday's LSC for the blue strips at the sides , and I stamped the Stampendous Music Score and HA sentiment onto other papers. The bird panel is layered up on foam over all the ribbon, and so is the left end of the sentiment. The ribbon is olive organza with some stitched twill a friend gave me layered over it. Because the organza didn't really show up so well, it's actually 2 layers of organza on top of a 5/8 inch strip of white paper :-).
I added a blue Prima on top of a pale green hydrangea, with some more gold Liquid Pearls in the centre.
