In March the wind blows. You have heard "March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb". I tell you the wind blows where I live! My challenge for you tonight is a technique challenge. We are going to blow through a straw to make our background for a card. I love this technique. You need a straw, and some refill inks, and glossy paper. How windy are you?
1. Pick out three re-inker colors, at least one lighter one.
2. Cut the size of glossy that you want. Or, you can cut it down after you do it. Or you can cut a shape out after you have finished your glossy.
3. Put three drops of the first color in various place on the glossy, and then blow, blow, blow! Don't pass out! LOL
4. Put three more drops of another color. Blow, blow, blow!! Did you pass out?
5. Put three drops of another color on your glossy. Now it is up to you, you can blow or scrape and spread out with the straw. This is your art, do what you like!
6. You can go back with another of the colors and fill in the white, or however you want to do it.
7. Wipe it with a tissue. It is such a pretty effect! I have included the link to the technique for a better understanding of it, in case my description is not clear!
Here is the tutorial:
After you get your background made, you can cut out a shape, or just a square. You can stamp on it with sentiment or a silhouette image. So much you can do with this! Have fun!

Hey girls! We are here! I have been making a sunburst, and doing wash, and now fixing dinner! But I am here! How windy are you? I see that wind blowing, Lee!
Here's mine.
I always have trouble with this technique - today was no exception. But at least it looks something like my inspiration piece, LOL, so I'm happier than usual with the outcome. Thanks, Sharon.
And it looks so easy and effortless in the video!!
Hi, Lela! Glad to see you playing! My Saturday is all mixed up right now. I do't know what time it is because, this challenge is at six but it went up at 5 my time, and then my husband has already started changing the clocks! So, I don't know what time it is! LOL
I put the dinner in the oven and told him we weren't eating until after 7, then came downstairs, where we are watching college basketball, and find it is not even 6 yet!
Anyway, I guess we will eat before 7!
I look forward to seeing what you all do with this technique. It is one of my favorites.
But it does make you dizzy! LOL
Thanks for this fun challenge. I know if I am to do this more, I NEED more inkers. My horror story is on the card write-up. Sharon, thanks for the great challenge and thanks for all you do for us. Here is my Circus card with straw blowing!
Here's my card Sharon Everyday Miracles had huge fun doing this but needed three attempts and by the way did anyone stick the straw in their mouth after using it to spread ink I did, very funny.
splitcoast is insisting this is not a jpeg so I'm fighting getting it into my gallery. But here's my card. I loved this technique though I'm not sure I like that the cut edges absorbed the ink that was blown off. Though it did create a 'frame' of sorts.
