Default Trimmer being off?

This is a link to the trimmer I have:

http://www.fiskarscrafts.com/tools/t...r-trimmer.aspx

Does anyone have that one (mine's blue though)? Are it's measurements off for you. It seems like every time I trim paper it's about a quarter inch off. I measure and measure and it just seems like it keeps adding that extra quarter inch. If I cut it and then put it on my stampin up grid paper you can clearly see it has an extra bit. Anyone else have this problem?

I have that trimmer, and it's pretty accurate -- no more than 1/16" off at most, and that's when I'm in a hurry and not paying close attention to my measurements. I think yours may be defective, because 1/4" is a HUGE margin of error!

Hmm.. I wish I still had the receipt....I guess it's time to look at a new one. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm up for any and all types of trimmers

I have a tonic studios trimmer and I love it. I have had about every method of trimmer out there and this one is by far my favorite and the easiest to use. I ordered mine from joann.com and when you use a 40% coupon makes it pretty cheap. There are two different versions, one has a 12" platform and the other has a 6" one. I have the one that is 12" and it is huge. If you have a smaller work space the one with the 6" base might be better. HTH

I have the blue one for close to 3 years and it had been doing a great job. It is only in the last 4-5 months that I notice that the bottom of my trimming is off a wee bit. It really annoys me. I wonder if these trimmers 'wear' out? Hmm.

I actually prefer my Fiskars. I've tried others and until I can afford what I really want, I'm sticking with the Fiskars. I'd contact them as they do guarantee their products.

If you don't mind enormous LOL!, I have a Carl Heavy Duty 220e that I just adore! Straight accurate cuts every time.

But I also invested $5 in a plastic drafting triangle. I put it along the bottom of my trimmer and now I have a perfect 90 degree angle to butt my paper up against. Best $5 I've ever spent.

I have the same one and it seems fine to me. The only time my are off is due to my errors. I am very happy with it.
