...which would you choose? I got a small bonus from work last week and plan to buy a cartridge or maybe two. I only have one right now - George, that came with my Cricut - so if I only buy one, I'll double the number I have!
I don't do any scrapbooking, just cards, so I'm looking for one that is versatile and has greetings (happy birthday, thank you, etc.) and some pretty shapes like flowers. I've been eyeing Everyday Paper Dolls for a while now for all the cute accessories that I could use on cards (dinosaurs, palm trees, etc.).
On the other hand, if I started scrapbooking (I have a 4 mo. old at home, so I might), what would you recommend?

My current FAVE is Storybook (and I'm not EVEN gonna tell ya how many carts I have!). It has lovely accents, swirls, and flowers, plus a terrific alphabet and a bunch of phrases. Here is a link to the handbook so you can see for yourself:
I use Storybook most often as well (I still only have the 3 free ones that came with the Cricut) because it will cut all the different shapes I need for frames and such on my cards. I've discovered I really don't do many cards with the cut-out pictures of things from the Cricut.
One of the cartridges I got for Christmas is a must have. It is Lyrical Letters. It has 7 fonts plus lots of words perfect for cards and designs to match. Here is a link on Oh My Crafts to the cartridge: http://www.ohmycrafts.com/cricut-car...l-letters.aspx.
Both the Paper Doll cartridges are great for all the accessories. I use them all the time for scrapbooking but not much for cards.
I love my Storybook cart but Beyond Birthdays may be one to check out for cards and such. I get all my cartridges at www.customecrops.com awesome prices!
Nicholec.....I have nearly 40 cartridges and could never choose just one as my favorite or the one I use most.
At the moment you are just looking for one, but down the road you probably will be purchasing more. so keep that in mind when choosing the one to purchase at this time.
I would go to Cricut.com and look through all the cartridges there are and go through each page of every cartridge to view the images. Make your choice based on the type of cards/scrapbooking you do and your style of crafting.
Realize that though many of the cartridges do have pre-made phrases, to cut them in a small enough size to fit on a card may be difficult to get a clean crisp cut. For many of the phrases, I use the Shadow feature.
The cartridge(s) you choose is really an individual choice that only you can make.
I'd say Lyrical Letters, it has tons of phrases and design elements for cards. It's one of my favorites, and there are so many great fonts you don't need many more.
