Please tell me what your favorite adhesive is... I've only ever tried the mono-adhesive, and that's about all you can buy around town here. I want to try others, but want some input before I place an order online! Please let me know what your favorite adhesive is, and why (and tell me about those you've tried and didn't like, too)!!! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!!

I've mostly used mono too. There is a liquid adhesive that some of the ladies use that they seem to like. I think it's made by mono. If you do a search for Tombow or adhesive, you should be able to find some recommendations.

Thanks I love Dwight. I'll have to check out the stuff on youtube.
emilymomto3boys got me over to the dark side. I started using Tombow 2-way glue. It's in a green and white bottle. I love mono, but it doesn't seem to hold as well.

I'm a huge fan of the mono/snail. I reccently tries the Xyron Cheeta because I found an amazing deal on it at a going out of business sale and I hate that thing. for one it's huge and clusmy, quite expensive, and I burn through those rolls so fast.
I subscribe to the school of smaller applicator and the choice of how much to put on. I just don't see the perk of a xyron unless you are dealing with fabric. There is no need to completely cover the entire back of something unless you have a poor quality adhesive. JMHO

I switched from mono to the Duck brand (used to be found at Walmart). It works so much better than the mono - my stuff doesn't fall apart anymore!!! My friend and I ordered it direct from the distributor, as our Walmart stopped selling it, and now I don't have to worry about running out!!

My favorite as well.. My second most used adhesive are glue dots.

The tape refills are inexpensive. I was paying $2.00 for 12 yards refill for mono. This is $2.37 for 36 yards. You do the math. check it out. It is big, but you get used to it. I got the red one, by the way.

For general purpose, glue sticks. 2 Way Glue is at a close second. For attaching special thing, I LOVE the glue dots! And for dimension, the pop-up glue dots!
Yup! Another Mono multi user ushered to the dark side! I LOVE the stuff, and it smells SO GOOD! The mono I found I was losing a lot inside the dispenser, like the other poster said...I also found it wasnt' holding up long term...I make a lot of cards up at once, and i would go pull on out of my box, and it was falling apart! Not with Multi!
Hi, I'm another cross-over to the 'dark side'. Love, love, love the mono-multi. It is made by Tombow. The green/white bottle. Love the second i have to slip the layer exactily straight and then it grabs hold real fast. It's so terrific for gluing small pcs, too. much easier than mono adhesive. Igot it a few weeks ago to try and have ordered more. I think ScrapbookPal is the cheapest. $1.99 and $3.85 shipping. S&H free if you order $25.00+.
Here is link. Scroll down to almost bottom of page. http://www.scrapbookpal.com/Store/Pr...company=Tombow
If anyone likes the Duck brand stuff, I had to order a case from their distributor since Walmart doesn't carry it. You can reach New United Distributing @ (800) 800-7343. Hope that helps anyone that is looking for this adhesive.

Thats what I use too. I know most walmarts stoped selling it, but my walmart still does in the office supply department.
I've seen the duck brand stuff in the office supply section of my Wally World before, will have to try that! Also, I was just looking online... has anyone tried the vario adhesive tab dispenser, and if so, how do you like it? For those who scrapbook, just a little poll: do you stick pictures down with photo corners or with permanent adhesive? Thanks for all the great suggestions so far... keep 'em comin'!!!

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only person who has been having trouble with mono! That's why I'm looking for something new!

I thought I knew about this stuff but I guess I don't. What are mono adhesives? Would that be things like Herma's Dotto? I have always used this and thought it was the best until recently. All of a sudden it constantly gets gunked up in the gizmo.
I scrapbook plus other paper crafts so I need to make sure all my adhesives are acid free and all that. Is this Tombow stuff? I looked on line and none of the places I saw it for sale mentioned if it is photo safe.
Thank you! I'm watching this thread to see what seems to be the favorite.

Love, love, love mono-Multi. It is acid free and photo safe BUT it does have trace amounts of latex. Just be aware if you are alergic. There are a few threads on that subject.
I hate, hate, hate mono/snail adhesive that comes in a cartridge. My layers always fall apart.
I mainly use 3M double sided scotch tape or my Mono-Multi glue. I also use Creative Memories photo squares and Hermafix permanent.

I tried using Tombow, but I got very fustarated with is so. I now use Scrapbook Adhesives products and they work very well for me. I also you Bonding glues and pen, which work very well too.
I use the double sided scotch tape and love it. You can buy a big pack at Sams that will last forever. I also like the duck tape everyone is talking about but can't seem to find it at Walmart anymore either.
Ok, so with the mono-multi (which appears to be super inexpensive on some sites, by the way), do you have to cover the entire surface of what you are sticking down or can you just "spot apply" it??? Also, how long does one bottle usually last you (are you getting your money's worth)??

I use Multi Mono and also Scotch brand quick dry tacky adhesive (red and purple label and a purple tip) They are similar and I love them both. With these you just need a thin line around the edge and it sticks forever! Just be sure you don't put too thick a line 'cause it does smoosh out the edges if you do.
I use glue sticks, mono, mono multi and double stick tape.
My all time favorite is something that I recently discovered: UHU twist and and glue and imho it blows all others out of the water, including the mono multi.
Why?
The concept is similar to mono multi but UHU's is a gel. It is less runny than Mono multi and I can use less. I find that with mono multi, before the glue set, the paper pieces can slide around. I have not had that problem with the UHU glue. I am goigng to buy a case of this stuff soon!
I *heart* Mono Multi. I hold monthly classes at my house, where we make anywhere from 75-150 cards. Four bottles of Multi lasted 4 months. You simply cannot beat that for cost. And a few people (mainly my little sister <grin>) used waaaay too much on her stuff. Multi will slide around a bit for about 5 seconds. That's one of the things I like. I can kinda slide my piece into perfect position. If it slides around longer than that, try cutting back on how much glue you use.
I have one friend who only uses one tiny drop in each corner and one in the middle. Works perfectly.
The only thing you can't do with Multi is use it on ribbon. It will bleed thru! Learned that one the hard way.
I ordered my Multi in bulk from penwa.com. A few friends wanted to order too, so we got enough to get free shipping. Came out to around $2 per bottle. Amazing stuff. Can't say enough good about it. Joann's carries it if you wanna buy one to try. It's about $3.50 before coupon.
Scotch double sided tape
I buy it was Sams and it is a great deal. I open the tape holder up and take the tape and put it on a desktop tape holder and it works so well!
Has anybody used the Coluzzle (or Colazzle) cutting system? I tried the
Creative Memories one but didn't like it. Let me know what you all think about Coluzzle. Thanks.
I've got to add my vote for 3M's ATG 714 Tape Adhesive Runner and Tape that the girls were talking about above from Framing Supplies. It is incredible!!!
My drawer is full of adhesive's LOL - I do believe I've tried them all. Here are a few other options that I have found that REALLY work:
My favorite glue stick is from Adhesive Tech, called The BORDERLine. It's a rectangular glue stick that fits into little corners and glides along straight lines. And WOW - it really holds!!!
My favorite ribbon glue if it is narrower then the 1/4" that my ATG gun will fit is Making Memories Ribbon Glue - it is AWESOME for ric rac and any of those odd size ribbons. A little goes a LONG way.
