Smile By far...your ABSOLUTE favorite-est Adhesive!

Alright...since I'm a posting maniac today...and I am trying to get myself to a good place with inks and ADHESIVES....what are ya'lls favorite adhesives for cardmaking? I use a tape from Michael's (I forget the name of it) but it doesn't always hold up too well. I hate liquid glue because of the sticky fingers/paper wrinkling factor...

So what does everyone like??? I'm looking to change and obviously, I like a ton of opinions before I am brave enough to make a decision...

I know...it's just glue... I'm a decision-making wuss!

I LOVE Tombo's Mono Multi glue in the green and white bottle. Takes a bit of practice to get the right amount on--it doesn't take much, and you don't need to put it right on the edge of the paper or CS.

I LOVE Judikin's Trio. Easy to use, three sizes all in one applicator so you don't have to track anything down, inexpensive, you replace the sizes one at a time.

I use crystal laquer every chance I get. It holds better than anything else. I use it to glue layers, vellum, embellishments... I don't use it too much for ribbon. You don't use too much, because it gets the paper wet, so one bottle lasts a long long long time. I don't get any lifting when I use laquer. It just takes a gentle hand so I don't use too much.

I don't like snail at all.

Yes, forever and ever! And it doesn't wrinkle the paper. It's a liquid glue, not a stick. Great stuff!

me too! a mono multi convert, it doesn't warp the paper at all and once you get the right pressure down this stuff lasts forever and holds up just as good as red liner tape! And I love the smell of it! I found it for 1.99 a bottle with free shipping over 25 and had super service!

Another Mono Multi lover here too. TAC now carries it in their catty, so I'm planning getting some more. Its been hard to me to find locally.

I also use 3M double sided tape. Its acid free and sticks like a mother!! I have about 5 to 10 minutes of removal time if I haven't "burnished" it down, so I can reposition as needed. And then, it sticks forever! I use it for all my cards, scrapbooks and even gift wrapping! And its cheap too. I have a little plactic dispenser that was less than a buck and buy the tape in the refill from the office supply store. It comes in a little yellow box. Can't live with out it.

I have this in a blue/clear bottle, with two different tips...is this similar? Mine is kind of a gel-glue...I am really interested in this, cause the whole duck being removed from walmart thing...mono--okay, I have been using double stick scotch tape from walmart, BUT call lazy--it is a pain to keep rippin pieces off! I pondered getting a heavy tape dispenser, to free up one hand...I am really intrigued by this mono multi liquid!

What you have sounds like the Mono Aqua. It works well, BUT it does wrinkle and warp the paper. The Mono Multi does not. I only use the Aqua for small embellishments where I don't have to worry about the paper.

The Mono Multi is worth looking into. I'm addicted.

Red Duck runner and now Mono too! They are both great, but I think the Mono holds better on heavy things and stress points.

Oh, and its because of Emily and a number of her comments on other threads that I had to rush out and try to find Mono Multi! LOL She's a great enabler. Then my sis had to get it because I had it. Then her friend had to get it because.... and on and on.

I use the plain ol' Scotch double sided tape 90% of the time and love it. Even so, it sounds like I must try the Mono Multi...you people have me wanting to run out right this instant to buy some!

you can get a similar version called Scotch Tacky glue at Target. I don't like it as much, but it is very similar.

I order mine from penwa.com.

I too am a mono multi user. I get mine at Joannes. A little goes a LONG way so the tube lasts FOREVER! I also use the snail for smaller things.

I haven't found it at either of those, but I don't do Walmart, so I don't know.

My LSS had it but it flies off her shelf.

The Angel Company is carrying it now in their new catty. I'm just going to start adding a bottle here and there when I place an order with them.

I use both the Duck tape runner and Mono Multi. I know SweetMissDaisy sells the Mono in her eBay store. I've also found it at Meijer's.

I LOVE the Mono! The best part (IMHO) is that you can stick you layer down and then kinda 'slide' it into place before the glue sets up and dries. I can perfectly place my layers, which is wonderful when you're as AR as I am

I have a tape runner dispenser from a company called Kokuyo (sp?) I found it at AC Moore. You can get it in either permanent or repositionable. It is a refillable dispenser. I love this stuff. Holds very well. I buy the refills when I have a coupon and nothing else to buy.

For light or medium-duty adhesion, I go with good ol' Scotch double-stick in the yellow plaid box.

For heavy-duty stick, *carpet tape* from my friendly local ACE hardware is the only way to go! A little goes a long way, so a roll lasts a long time. You do have to put up with a bit of stickum on your scissors if you use it a lot, but that's easy enough to fix. The CT is also handy if you make your own envelopes and don't necessarily want to seal them right away -- just leave the backing strip on until you're ready to seal.

For strips of paper or things that are smaller, I go with Glue Dots and Glue Lines -- these really grip, and you can get a bit of 'lift' with the Lines for additional dimensional effects or for avoiding the unsightly bulges when placing a stamped piece over ribbon or a strip of cardstock.

I've just acquired some Mono Multi and am in the process of overcoming my abhorrence for liquid glues. I've tried dotting it on teeny stuff -- it really works and really doesn't frimp the paper!

As you can see, I don't think there is *one perfect* adhesive for all purposes -- different situations call for different products. This is one of my favorite subjects; thanks for asking the question. Ahhhh...I love the smell of adhesives in the morning!

Happy trails....

Sue

Just LOVE the mono multi and the duck roller too! But I also so lots of really tiny stuff that I only need a speck of glue for that I use the Zig Squeeze and Roll 2-way glue...it's a roller ball pen like the Sailor glue but but better in that it doesn't clog nearly as much and is very easy to un-clog when it does. Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby have it in my area.

Must try this as well...TFS!

Can you tell me how this differs from the SU Liquid Glue that I've just started to fall in love with?
