A2 (also known as invitation envelopes) from Staples (available in white, ivory, and pastels). Other A2 envelopes can often be found at other office supply stores.
I like to get my envelopes by the box (250) at Paper Plus. I find the ones from Wal-Mart and other places to be very rough in texture. The Neenah brand I purchase are a similar texture to SU!'s Whisper White but are heavier in weight.
I had been buying mine at WM, but I decided to splurge a little bit and get some Papertrey white envelopes, hoping that they would be similar to SUs. I was disappointed when I opened the pack. I love the feel of the SU envelopes - so satiny smooth! I should have bought them, but you know the siren song of saving .50 (!) and getting free shipping! When I order from them, I always qualify for free shipping! Their CS is so nice, I thought the envelopes would be the same. Live and learn!
Isn't A2 the size from Europe and Australia? That is the size of some of the cards I received from Australia. I cna't send them unless I make custom envelopes. Is the cardstock and envies a different size in the other country's catalogs?

If anyone is interested in the "satiny smooth" invitation A2 envelopes (flat flap instead of triangle) in 70# text weight, I've got them in Brilliant White and Museum White!
IMBlessed5: My local staples carries the 100 quantity boxes with the pointed flaps only. Are these the ones that you buy?
I am not sure how I feel about the pointed flaps after seeing Stampin' Up's envelopes. How do the rest of you feel about them? Hallmark uses the pointed flaps so they can't be all that bad. ;)
I use the ones form the office supply stores usually. Right after Christmas, I went to Target and bought boxes of their Christmas cards at 90% off. I got many boxes of cards for about $1.00 each, and each one had envies in them - about 20. I will use those until I run out, which will be never! They are slightly smaller, so I just trim my cards a little and they are fine. I also got some that were bigger, and elgant. I'll use those for special occasions or special cards. Thanks to the poster on this sight who suggested this idea - it saved me lots of money on envelopes!

Wow, what a great idea!! I wish I'd thought of that. Next Christmas I will stock up!

I ONLY use clear envelopes for my own cards. I have to order lots of white and ivory envelopes for the cards I sell and for the soldier cards so I order them 1000 for $37.00 from clearbags.com. I think they are item E20 or E120. I would have to go and look around. The quality is better than Walmart or Office Depot I think. I usually order 2000 for like $84.00 including shipping. HTH. Blessings.
