I understand what masking is (in a nutshell - covering up and image you want to stamp over). What is reverse masking? I looked in the resource section above but it almsot seems that the 2 terms are used for the same technique. Is there a difference? If so, please explain. Thanks

Reverse masking is sorta just the opposite, you may cut out an opening or something and just stamp inside the opening vs. covering up an image and stamping on top of it. HTH
Basically, with masking, you're using a cut-out pice of paper to cover a small stamped image/area and stamp over. Reverse masking is using the negative piece of paper that you cut the original smaller piece from to cover a large area you don't want stamped on.
When I first saw a tutorial for reverse masking I said "Oh, I didn't know that had a name. I call that stamping through a hole" - if you think of it that way it makes sense! (to me at least, I'm a simple gal!)
Try using Frisket film for your masking or reverse masking instead of paper, its really easy to cut.I use an exacto knife, its super thin and has sort of a sticky side so will stick to almost anything but comes right up.You can reuse it also. You should be able to find it at any Art Supply store.
Great for masking or reverse masking.

Yes think of it as stamping through a hole does make more sense to me. I'm a simple, plain vanilla kind of gal myself.
