Default ?paper for home made envelopes

I see all kinds of different sized cards and I have seen the score pal tutorial for making envelopes....Next Question, what paper do you use for making envelopes that will actually be going thru the mail. Card stock can be too stiff, designer paper not necessarily strong enough. Thanks

I,ve used brown craft .the tan color that comes in rolls. In a real pinch a brown paper bag works. or wrapping paper.

You know sometimes you find cheap cardstock that you are thinking wow this is just not SU c/s it is almost amazing they call it cardstock? Yeah that stuff. I got some of that at Micheels years ago I can't remember the package it was but it was the bargain c/s that they had in assorted packs. It had a white belly band on it around the bottom of it and it was really thin c/s.

I've used wrapping paper and wallpaper samples. Go to the home improvement store and ask if you can have the sample book when they get the new one in....they'll usually just give it to you. Wallpaper makes great envelopes. You can also use the pictures from a wall calendar. HTH

I have several of those large stacks of pattern paper that have 180 sheets and cost about $20. I got them at Hobby Lobby half price. I think the brand is My Minds Eye. The paper is the perfect weight for making envelopes. The paper is white on one side, so I use that for the outside of the envie, then the pattern is inside and looks great.

This is a great way to use up patterns that you don't want to use on a card. Almost any pattern will work on the inside of an envelope, and looks better than plain white.

I have even used beautiful pages from a magazine or calendar! If you use a print, make sure to use s white label for both addresses so the PO can read them!

Wow if I had the time I have so many of the Stacks of paper to use...finding the time to make the envelopes would be my problem.
Blessings.
