Default Hinge question

JUST WONDERING ... if anyone is having issues with shadow images from the MISTI. I've had the MISTI perhaps 7 or 8 months and have just begun having issues with the stamping clear images. There seems to be a lot of movement on the hinges. Just wondering if I'm the only one having this problem or could this be a problem inherent with the design?

Hi Anne - have you seen our video channelhere on Splitcoast? There's lots of great information there, including tips for getting perfect placement of the lid using the hinges.

Yes, I have watched this particular video. I've not had this problem until about 2 weeks ago. It appears there's a lot of movement with the 3 hinges and I'm thinking that's where the problem is coming from. I'm wondering for those that have had their product for awhile, as I have, if this is something that can be expected with daily use? It just does not produce clear crisp images any longer.

I'm having the same problem Anne. I've had mine for 16 months and have been having problems within the last month. I haven't been able to identify anything I'm doing differently.

There can definitely be play in any hinge with use - it's like your front door But that won't affect the use if the lid is in the same place each time you stamp.

But if you watch the video, you'll see that if you just let the MISTI work, and don't pull the lid in one direction or the other, your image will always be in the same place.

However, if you find you like to pull the lid down towards you as you close it, then just be sure you always do that when you stamp. If you are a pusher or a puller, just be sure your motion is consistent every time and your image will be perfect.

Also, be sure your cardstock is always in the corner - I can't tell you how many times I have gotten careless and let it move a bit

Problem solved, Ms. Sweet Petunia. I watched the video again on hinges and I think I may have been the problem. Thanks.
