Diane--you can count me in too. Since I live just west of Waukesha, I would like to come and play during the day, but not stay over if that is OK. Creative Pals, the home store of Whipper Snapper stamps, is just west of Brookfield Square, so that would be a place I would recommend. There is also a nice Mike's and Joann's, on Bluemound, on the way to Creative Pals from the hotel.
I know the CURDS have talked about getting together more often but I'm not sure what's coming after the October 17th weekend. Today for work I was at the Crowne Plaza in Wauwatosa (near the Milwaukee Zoo) and they'll give me quite a deal if we want to do something on a weekend in January or February there. I can get rooms for $96 per night (we could put 2-4 people per room to bring that cost way down), they'd put us on the Women's Floor which has a little snack bar fully stocked - help yourself at no extra cost, they'll give us a large conference room for stamping/scrapping OR we can have one of the meeting rooms where they'll set up large round tables for us. They'll put out snacks in the morning, afternoon and evening for us. They will provide a free shuttle to take us anywhere within 10 miles (I think that's what she said) for supper if we don't want to stay there to eat. The shuttle could be to Mayfair Mall, Brookfield Square Mall or any restaurants in those areas. Is anyone interested?
Sandi and I would be interested. Especially in late Jan. or Feb. Something fun to look forward to. Looking forward to meeting everyone on the 10th.
Anyone going to the stamp expo at the Waukesha Co Expo Center the weekend of Oct. 24/25? I'd like to go but my usual stamping buddy can't go that weekend....any takers?
I'm going with a friend from Milwaukee on Sat. She's an amputee & uses a wheelchair so I'm pretty much tied to tending to her. We also plan to go to Creative Pals as their Whipper Snapper unmounteds will be $1 each that weekend at the store.
I won't be able to do the Waukesha expo, but hope to get out to the Madison one (first weekend of deer season). Anyone heading that way? Want to try to meet up for a snack, lunch or dinner somewhere? If there are any takers ... suggestions about when, where, or do you want me to look into possibilities?
Diane ... count me in for a part of the Jan/Feb gathering. Sounds like a lot of fun, and this time I hope to be free for more chat time!

I won't be doing Waukesha. I'm thinking about Madison. I would love be present during the day for the Milwaukee thing next January/February. I will be watching for more details.
Elaine ... how're all those wedding preparation things going? I've been thinking of you and all that hustle and bustle!
I would love to meet up with people who are going to the Madison stamp expo. I'll probably pop into the actual expo on Sunday, when the crowds are thinning out, but I'd love to meet up with folk for a lunch, dinner or snackies anywhere during the weekend.
So ... if you're going to the Madison expo, when will you be coming in, and do you want to try to get some of the CURDS together to visit?

Here and Here are a couple of the cards we made at the Appleton get-together. Just want to make you jealous so you show up for future events!:twisted: Hopefully Melissa is going to post a few pics sometime in the next day or so. My camera died so I couldn't take any.
Hi! I finished the wedding invitations late last night. Today I need to do the response cards and directions to insert in the invitations. I am glad that they are almost finished and that soon I will be able to just stamp! I looked at my calendar and I have Stamp Camp on Nov. 20th and a Scrapbooking class on Nov. 21 st. where I am teaching a 3 D scrapbook purse that is adorable. So Diane and I talked it over and we will go to Madison on the 22nd. I am guessing that Melissa will be coming with us too. I don't remember what the hours were on Sunday. Do you Jeannie???
Me
Holy Schmoly, Diane! You are one stampin' maniac! LOL! Bring some pretties to show us what you've been up to, OK?

Melissa and Diane are headed to Milwaukee to a shoe box swap they are going to tomorrow. I'll talk to them more about it after they get back and see if we can get a plan together. We are having Jenna's bridal shower on Sunday so it will be a busy weekend for me. Just finished typing out and printing out the response cards in between phone calls and visitors! I am still in my jammies....may end up staying in them till I go out with Susie for supper! Hmmm...I should see if she wants to come to expo too!

Hope you had a great Friday night dinner (Are you a Fish Fry person? I love Fish Fry!)
Looking forward to what Susie, Mel & Diane have to say. Just think ... you could be the Four Femmes Fatales From Friendship!

South Milwaukee was so fun--we all got some awesome swaps and made 20 great cards as well as then getting 20 pre-made ones. The ones I made are in my gallery. The secret sister swap was great--I got an awesome gift with 5 hand made cards, a MS punch, some bling, of course chocolate and then three plastic boxes that each had 5 card bases along with a roll of SU ribbon and some embellishments to match. The raffle prizes were so great--I think there were more than 40 of them--I happen to win two: a Lia Sopia dragonfly pin and a Longaberger TV time basket w/protector that had a Latte candle, pack of seeds, a tie on and lotion. Carrie Ann does such a great job with this event--we each got a gift bag with fun things and also a door prize that ranged from markers, to paper, to ribbon, punches and stamp sets.. These were all SU items that are donated to the event.
It takes much time to get ready for an event like this with all of the cards that we need to make and pieces to cut, but in the end, it is soooooooooooo worth it!

Where was this? So how many cards did you have to make in total? What do you do with all the one's you take home? And from all your SCS swaps? Do you give them away or what? Just curious because the only swap I've been to is the Friendship one and 2 SCS online ones.
Guess who just picked up some shiny wavy paper from The Paper Cut today???? I would love to live in their warehouse! Also got some A6 envelopes so I can try making some bigger cards.
Hey Jeanie bean....Just wanted to let you know that Di and I talked tonight and we decided not to go to the Madison expo as I have the two events right before this and will be wiped out. Di is going to Milwaukee this weekend with a friend of her's to that one. I decided not to go as I am broke. 2 weddings and a new roof have me in the poor house at the moment! LOL And I have tons of new toys right here that I haven't had time to play with! I had a free day today just to stamp what I wanted to, and it was so nice and relaxing! I sent the wedding invitations with Jenna after the bridal shower on Sunday and 65 thank you cards. She will need more thank you's yet, but I can leisurely work on them in the next couple of months. We will hook up one of these days!!!! Miss you all! Elaine

Well, pooh! Although I totally hear what your saying. And after reading all you've been up to and all you're doing, I think I need a nap!
So ... I'm just going to have to get that condo in Friendship after all, aren't I?! LOL! (Actually, wish me luck ... I'm applying to Monetssori training schools right now.)

It really has been a hectic year for you!
As far as that bed ... how much rent will you charge? LOL!
We'll see what the response is to the Archivers/Madison idea is ... it would be awesome if you could come down! (The gals from Madison who we met in Appleton were a delight, you'd love to meet them! And Barbaralynn knows at least one madtown stamper ... if the stars line up right, this could be a lot of fun!)

Hi Martha--this swap was in South Milwaukee, sponsored by another SCS and SU demo. This was the fourth year and it has been kind of by "invite only" She asks the people back who have been there in the past and then if it is not full, asks us for people who might want to come. It is usually the same Saturday in Ocotber--Sweetest Day. If you are intersted, let me know and I can check to see if there are any openings next eyar.
There are 40 stampers who attend--we pre-make 23 cards. One is our sample and the other two are for the hostess and her helper. We then bag up the parts for the other 20 cards. We are divided into two groups--make half and get the other half of the cards premade. There are also some optional swaps you can join--2 different sizes of scrapbook pages, all occasion cards--19 and a Christmas card--16. This day is a blast--one of the best I have ever been.
There has also been a shoebox in Sun Prairie--just east of Madison--in the spring. Keep checking the thread for get togethers and it should be posted.
As far as what I do with all of the cards I get at swaps-some I use, some I donate to our church, some I send to the troops, some I give to a friend to sell for me at craft fairs and the rest, well.........................they are currently in a box waiting for a place to go!
Thanks for asking--Barb

I'm from Ripon, and this sounds like something I want to go to. Do they have paper that is good for Copics? And do they have cardstock, or what?? I'm glad I looked at this thread!

They are mostly a monthly kit (scrapping and stamping) company although in recent years they have started having demo's and home workshops. They do beautiful papers of all kinds, rubber stamps mounted and unmounted, all types of embellishments to go with their monthly kits and special projects in kit form. I'm not sure if their white cardstock would work. The paper that I have of theirs is not smooth. It usually has some kind of texture to it. See here to get an idea. You can check through their online store.

Has anyone here been to these sales before? Any idea how deep the discounts are? Tryin to convince myself it's not worth the drive from Mad Town.
