I am going to my first SU party in ages on Sunday. I don't really want to buy any stamps, but I do want to get some accessories and supplies. I have heard the SU white craft pad is great, so I was going to get that, and also stock up on Cool Caribbean paper. What would you say is something that you can't live without as far as your day to day crafting--- or--- what would you say you must have SU brand as opposed to other brands?

the stamp & scrub is a MUST HAVE!!!
i agree about the white craft ink!!!
i just got the daubers not too long ago and i really like them, there are 12 in the pkg for $9.95.
i would also like to get the watercolor crayons.
any of their punches- they are great quality, and they have a good selection.
the craft & rubber scissors are great for trimming and mounting the stamps and more.
the blender pens are excellent!
they have a great white gel pen too.
stampin' dimensional are nice to have on hand.
i got the greeting glue so if you want to make you own envelopes with PP you can run this on the edge of the flap to moisten and seal it.
i like to use the stamp & store boxes for all kinds of things... stamps, daubers, the ink spots store well in them, markers, embossing folders, and a plethora of other things.
hope this gives you some fresh ideas! have fun! happy stamping!
Momis... thanks! Do you think the Stamp N Scrub is a must have if I have the one from Michael's? I know it's nicer, but would you think I would benefit a lot from it? Glad you mentioned the gel pen, I'll put that on the list, too. I'll check out the daubers and the scissors, too. I could use that.
I personally, could live with out the scrub. Don't get me wrong, I like that it has a big surface and that it has a wet and a dry side and all but if I were limited on funds I wouild rather spend my money on stamp sets, cardstock and ink.
My favorite thing about SU is the card stock and ink. I love the thick, high quality look and feel to the cardstock and the fact that it matches so perfectly!!! I also think that the cardstock grabs the ink better then other brands and I feel that the ink grabs the stamp better so makes for a better image. I can imagine stamping with outher stamps because I have seen some beautiful stamps out there but I can't imagine it with out stampin up ink and cardstock. Can you tell that I really like it???
After ink and cardstock, I would suggest the color coordinating ribbons and accessories. I guess I am a bit **** about my colors matching.
After ribbons, my next suggestion is the hardware kit. It is the BEST price around for the best stuff IMHO!!
That is my opinion, take it for what you paid for it! :-)
I agree about the flower punch - the daisy flower punch - I use mine all of the time and I think it's only 9.95. Ditto the blender pens, WWC, coordinating CS, Ink pads and ribbon. SU ribbon is such a great deal at 25 yds! - and good quality.
Each kit contains an assortment of shaped clips, label holders, ribbon charms, buckles, fasteners, and photo anchors you can use on cards, scrapbook pages, and handmade books.
Approximately 138 pieces of hardware, plus 100 matching brads.
I am a CTMH demo, so I don't buy much in the way of SU stamps or paper. Here are some things I think SU has that are unique and high quality:
Punches - very happy with all SU punch purchases. Highly recommended. Much easier to use than my fiskars or marvy punches.
Water Color Wonder Crayons - easy to use and nicely pigmented.
Hodge Podge Hardware - This is an exceptional value.
Sponge Daubers - 9.95 for 12 is great.
Paper Holder and Dividers - Good price. Cheaper than cropper hopper.
Heat n Stick Powder - Haven't seen this elsewhere.
You must get a versamark inkpad (and get the refill while you are at it). Look at the in colors that will be discontinued come July - I love cool carribean, marigold and cranberry.
The stamp & scrub is great, it is 2-sided, is your Michael's one like that? I LOVE SU!'s rubber cutting scissors, my best investment. I also use a ton of grosgrain, can't have enough of that. And their punches are great, the word window especially.
SU Markers are my choice.
I love having the ink in all the colors right at my finger tips. I use them to color in the stamps especially on flowers that have the stems and leaves attached.
I also vote for the punches use them all the time too.

I like thier dimmensionals and their "red" colored sticky tape. I think both items are a terrific deal and higher quality than other brands. I also like the mini dots.
The black ginham ribbon is a MUST HAVE also!!!

I love their grosgrain ribbon- but I am getting a selection from here http://inkydinkydoo.blogspot.com/ instead- not SU, but color matches. Although the SU price is great- I just don't need that much of each color.
I have been stamping for, 7 years and these are the SU things I use the most:
-Stamp and Scrub
-the scissors-(great investment, you won't be sorry)
-word window punch
-the SU markers
-SU Mat Pack (I love this and use it all the time!)
-the storage cases (the ones the stamp sets come in, I love to store my -other stamps in them and supplies too)
-the plastic bags (I use them for holiday treats, and small gifts, and put a pretty ribbon on the top of the bag.)
-Paper, paper, paper!
Versamark, and many other punches you can buy elsewhere, but these are the things I use the most.

I LOVE my SU papercutter..it is very nice quality at a great price...other MUST haves--the word window punch, dimensionals (cannot buy enough!), and I like their dazzling diamonds too!
Good luck (keeping the price of your purchase down, that is)
i love the mat pack, it has a great paper piercing guide that is the best! great for settlig eyelets in a nice row too. and the white gel pen from SU seems a better one than most. my sister bought one, not sure which craft store, and it gets blocked up all the time, my SU one works great. and the dazzling diamonds glitter is great, super fine , like a dusting of sparkles, i love it, and the two way glue pen to stick the glitter where you want it. i could go on and on! have sun at the party!
Definitely the card stock and the inks - whether pads or spots is up to you. Spots would be a more inexpensive way to begin to see if you like them. If you want Cool Caribbean, you should stock up on the card stock and also buy the ink pad and reinker. It will be gone at the end of June. Check all the "in colors" to see if there are others you like. Happy stamping!
I love their grosgrain ribbon- but I am getting a selection from here http://inkydinkydoo.blogspot.com/ instead- not SU, but color matches. Although the SU price is great- I just don't need that much of each color.
Their cardstock cannot be beat.
Clear buttons are fun
Everyone here said what I was thinking ;) I just wanted to let Skittl1321 know that she should see if she could find a demo doing a ribbon club. I'm currently doing one with my customers and it's great! We've done 3 of the 4 months are here's a pic of the ribbons we've gotten so far! It's 6.25 yds of the grosgrain, and both organdies and various other lengths of the others. At the end of June, we'll have a good amount of ALL of the ribbons SU provides!
I, too, love the rubber and craft scissors. I finally bought them after a few years of using other scissors to trim my stamps. I waited too long, because they really are superior quality.
I'd also suggest a set of spots and cardstock from your favorite family.
Ugh. Those rubber scissors are $20. I know, well worth it, but you know, it's still $20. Does anyone have the Paper Snips ones?
I personally would recommend a pair of Cutter Bees from a chain store - and the Basic Black marker is OK, but not as fine of a tip as I personally like for doodling. Go for a Sigma Micron marker - I think Wal-Mart sells them and I know you can get them at office supply places, too.
White Gel Pen
Rubber Scissors
Hodgepodge (or at the very least the brads that are that color, vintage assortment I think it is)
Ribbon
Markers
Cardstock
Join a ribbon and marker club if you need to and you'll get the ribbon, marker and assorted cardstock, that's how a lot of my girls have gotten their stuff. I can use a whole spool of the ribbon but most people who rather have a shorter length of more colors. But you do *need* it LOL

I use my stamp-a-ma-jig all the time and my mat pack. I love all the grosgrain ribbon and any of the punches especially corner punches, slit punch, ovals or word window punch. Enjoy your party.
Kathy
oops - should clarify that I'd recommend the Cutter Bees in place of the Paper Snips. They're great for detail work, but I would NOT use them on rubber. The rubber scissors really are a great investment!
Yes you do. I got this kit and love it. I have actually used quite a few pieces and still have plenty. Great quality and lots of it. Best bang for your buck. Definitely the White Gel pen, I have not found a better one. I would also look at the patterned paper from the Spring Mini, it is very, very cute.
They've already been mentioned, but I LOVE the SU white gel pen and the mat pack. I use them all the time...I really ought to get a back-up gel pen so that when the one I'm using is 'out' I'm not stuck without one for a bit. So, nothing I've said is 'new', but just another confirmation that they'd be money well spent!
