That is nuts. Why would you pay that much for a background stamp. I don't understand. I think I need to start putting some of my old stuff up for auction.

OMG! I would never pay that much for a stamp. I dont care what it is..I just cant believe it..My DH would not be happy if I bought a piece of wood for that price.

I just DON'T understand this one! I've seen some of those auctions go sky high, but they were for those 'hafta have' sets--Wild Wild West, Dreams & Dragons, Fishin, etc.
But a Background stamp with a bunch of lines? For THAT much?
How do you find these? Do you juwt happen to be on at the aution's end, does it catch your eye as you are browsing or is there a way to find them? Just curious.
That's very interesting. There are two others listed... I'm watching just to see what happens and if it was a fluke. I have liked this stamp for a long while, but it was retired before I started stamping. I think paying that much is a little crazy too.

I happen to be bidding on something else and this particular auction was listed close to it and the price caught my eye. I normally don't see these either unless it's posted here. I know you can do a search for Stampin' Up and then have it listed by price and that is one way to see what is going for a lot of money.

Thank you for the clarification; I've been so curious about the links we share and how we manage to see them. Still a WOW. But as Shanon implied kinda hard to believe.
I don't know if I really believe it either. I always wonder if they are able to "scam" things like this (like having a friend pushing up the bidding). I know someone once said that ebay has ways of stopping that, but I don't know!

OMG, I can't believe that! That is totally obnoxious!!!!
I am trying to sell 10 retired sets and 1 current set for BIN $125 and I have had to repost it since it did not sell the first time. Anyone interested, it is:
If I'm not mistaken, having someone (or yourself) bid on an auction to drive up the price is called "shilling". Ebay takes it very seroiusly. The last time I checked though, thier main way of catching shillers was by reports from ebay users. I've also seen auctions "mysteriously" end with no winner, only to be re-listed a day later.
If you have suspicions (grounded of course) you should report them.
That being said, that is an insane amount to pay for a stamp! I'm just thinking about all the other *stuff* I could get for that kind of money!!
