Default Teacher Gifts? Need ideas

Do you give your teacher an end of the year gift? I'm looking for some new ideas and am open for suggestions. Thanks,

I gift teacher gifts b/c )up to this past year) I was a teacher.

There have been lots of threads befpre so if you do a search I am sure you will find some, and even in teh gallery if you go in and type teacher I am sure something will pop out at you.

My opinion? Gift cards are always very well received. I have gotten them for the grocery store, plant nurseries, movies, restaurants, video stores, book stores, etc. Used all of them. Even if you do not have the $$ for a gift card, a "theme" basket is nice.
For a movie night you can get microwave popcorn, candy, and a soda and put it in a cute bucket or bag and put in a note about taking time to relax and enjoy their evening, if you have a little extra cash you can put in a $5 gift card to a video store and they are covered, and the gift costs less than $10.

Here is the link to some wonderful ideas in our gallery:

I wanted to give DS teacher something small, so I made her a card and wrote a sincere thank you and stamped her a note cube using the kids from smorgasborders. It wasn't much but just something to show we appreciate her.

My friend made these great tote bags for the teachers. It got me thinking if you took the plain totes at the craft store and stamped on them w/paint and fabric medium that could be great!! or stamp a panel and glue it onto the bag.

I'm a Demo, so I gave them each personalized card & note, as well as a nice candle and then a $10ish stamp set according to their likes. i.e. One teacher loves Bees, so I gave her the Busy Bee Wheel & handle. Another is very creative, so I gave her set w/lots of variety to use throughout the year.

I thought the candle would be good in case (gasp) someone doesn't like to craft but, since I know most of them do, the ones that don't can hand me down their set to the craftier ones (or to the school office) and still enjoy a lovely candle.

HTH,
Steph

We get an inexpensive beach bag and fill it with toys to make the summer fun. This has always worked for us because our teachers have kids. This year we filled it with a beach towel, sunscreen, beachball, jacks, diving toys, long pixie sticks, splash balls, goggles, book mark and also a gift card to borders for her to get a book to read while her daughter plays. They have always seemed to enjoy it and today we got the thank you card that said they had already used several toys!
