I'm not familiar with Stamp Stores in Toronto, but if you will be touring around and passing through London, ON there is a great stamp store there. London is about 2-3 hours away from Toronto, depending upon where you start driving from.
I was in Toronto last week visiting my brother. I asked him to look for a stamp/scrapping store and he found Scrapbooks by Design, 1783 Queen St. It's in the east end near Kingston Rd. (where the old Woodbine Racetrack was located). They have a lot of Hero Arts and Magenta stamps. Their scrapping supplies are very nice--lots of papers but many of them I've seen here too. The prices are higher of course, but with the exchange rate it isn't too bad. They do have a 15% tax on everything in Canada. Hope you have a nice visit--it's a great city--very cosmopolitan--with many ethnic neighborhoods and restaurants.
... They do have a 15% tax on everything in Canada. ....
FYI: It's a Nationwide 7% Goods & Services Tax (GST) and each *Province* has it's own % Provincial Sales Tax (PST) which is applicable to either the same or fewer things than the GST. I love that there's no PST when dining out in BC.
(Just an FYI...I dislike misinformation and general assumptions.)
Anymore stores to recommend? Where are the Torontonians?? ;)
As a non-resident visitor, you can claim a refund for goods and services tax sales tax GST (the 7% tax) you paid on eligible goods and short-term accommodation while visiting Canada.
