Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Challenges: They are so much fun! And usually... they are challenging! They help us grow. They help us try something new. They help us spread our wings. :-D Challenges are not meant to pick on people with a different style from that of the hostess. They are not meant to stop your fun. Some challenges lend themselves to be rule free. However, some challenges naturally have rules. This challenge has rules... It is the nature of the challenge... Limited! Mistakes happen. We read something wrong.... No big deal. I just ask that you follow the spirit of the limited idea. ;)
Please have fun with this challenge. It is meant to challenge you. If you are not inspired this week, perhaps the next challenge will be just what you needed. Please come back each week and check out what we're doing. :-D
TODAY'S CHALLENGE
We are making sympathy cards. These can be difficult to make when you need them. So let's stock up on some cards today!
Keyword:LSC132 Theme: Sympathy Cards Main Image Stamps: Flowers Background Stamp: one (It can be a big background, a little background, or just another image turned into a background. But just use one.) Sentiment Stamp: one Cardstock & Ink: any colors ** NO Designer Paper NO Cuttlebug or similar tools Embellishments: Limit Depends on the Stamper **
** The Limit Depends on Each Stamper
Instead of listing items that can be used, I want you to apply the limited style to your cards. If you usually use 8 layers, try 4 layers for these challenges. If you usually use 10 brads, try 4 or 5. If you usually use 2 or 3 ribbons, try one. Get the idea? ;) This idea seemed to really work last week, so let's try it again.
Please see the sample in the post #4.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Here are my samples. Hopefully I won't have to use these cards soon, but the news isn't good tonight. One would be from me and one would be from the whole staff.

Thanks for the challlenge, Jen. Sympathy cards are always hard for me, so this is a good way for me to make a few ahead of time instead of rushing at the last minute like I usually do.
Okay...I'm a little confused here. Is the main image supposed to be just one thing? But the RIW card has a bunch of them stamped. Can we use more than one flower?
Cool challenge. I'll have to try it after I get home from work tomorrow.

Jen, thanks for this challenge. I need to stock up on a few of these for that moment when they are needed, but I don't really feel like stamping. Your samples are so nice and serene.

Use as many flower stamps as you would like. If someone wanted to CASE your card, they could change the stamps to any flowers they had whether they had one set or many flower sets.
Thanks Jen. What a great idea to make these at a time when (hopefully) we don't need them. I couldn't imagine trying to make a card, something I get great joy out of, when dealing with the NEED to make one. Like the other users, I'm sorry to hear you may require one of these soon. I'm looking forward to this challenge and love your cards - they are so pretty.
Thanks Jen! When I send cards to my Grandmother I always send Sympathy cards, unfortunately that is what she said she needs most of these days, not birthday cards :(
I decided to stay up late tonight and get this in on the front end of the challenge. I've had to make a few sympathy cards lately so glad Jen made that one of the requirements.

Thanks Jen. I have done a lot of these lately, I think they are taking over my gallery. Just uploaded one today for the WT challenge.
I think I need to stock up!
One of my good friend's grandmother just passed away a couple days ago and I will use this challenge to make one for her. Thanks for great challenges Jen!
(couldn't sleep...so, this is the best way to pass the time until I just have to drop!)
