This week we're getting our fingers inky to create one of a kind designs using mixed media, stamps, ink, and whatever else floats your boat! In honor of the wealth of mixed media techniques that exist, I've selected a fabulous board on Pinterest called Abstract Art to inspire us in this direction! Therefore, I encourage you to PLAY! Play with inks, play with different mediums, and be sure to try inventing your own textures! There are so many things around the house that you can dip into ink, or paint, to create wonderfully artsy textures and patterns. I personally like to use stencils, sponges, ziplock bags, aluminum foil, tissue paper, and even that bubble stuff you put into boxes to keep things from breaking. Go at it, let's get inky this week!
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, or don't subscribe to Pinterest, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
I started looking at the board last night and even though Abstract is not my thing, there was some stuff with wonderful color that i just LOVED...I will try to do something today when I get home from teaching my class!!
I am looking forward to working with COLOR!
Hugs!

I was inspired by this amazing piece of art with its circle motifs and great colors- I used 2 paint sample cards for my dc circles, did some wood grain embossing, and added a stacked teacups image and outlined sentiment. Finished with some fabrics. Here's time for tea
