Hustle & Bustle: The Winter 2010/2011 DT Search is Here!
The Hustle & Bustle of the Holiday Season is here! There are lines everywhere! Get in line here with your first challenge entry!
To enter the competition for the next Clean & Simple DT, make a CAS card following the instructions below. And then post in this thread with a link to your card.
CHALLENGE #1 Keeping up with the Jones's: Have you ever seen neighbors trying to outdo each other with the holiday decorations? It's fun to sight-see, but I wouldn't want their electricity bill!
Make a CAS card with a decoration theme. It can be for any holiday or even a birthday. Please add ribbon and some sort of bling.... the challenge is to still keep it clean & simple. ;) Style and beauty/cuteness is always important, but the CASness of the cards will be viewed heavily in the first elimination judging since basically it's challenging to keep it that way and there are a lot more cards I have to sadly eliminate. (Our current definition for a CAS card is near the bottom of this post.)
Keyword: CASwinter10KJ
(No spaces CAS winter 10 KJ -- not good. If you are concerned about getting it right, copy & paste it into your keyword box.)
Please also post a link in this thread just in case there is an error with the keyword or if the gallery is being finicky on the judging days.
Submission Deadline: Friday, Nov. 19 @ 10 PM (EST) New Rules as of Fall 2010:
Please don't combine this challenge with any other current SCS challenge.
Please make only one card. (It's easier to narrow down the field this way.)
Holiday Party (DT and Guest DT Reveal Party)
Friday, Dec. 3 @ 9 PM (EST)
Standard Expectations for a DT member: I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 10PM-11PM EDT. You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. When the season is ending and a new DT search is going on, I would like you to help with the judging, especially in the final round.
CAS Winter Design Team Schedule (December '10 - February '11)
In addition to the three new DT members, there will be a guest designer each week. If you would like only to be considered as a guest designer, please let us know on the thread and/or in the comment section of your card when uploading.

Crazy Relatives: Every family has at least one crazy relative... right? I hope it's not just us!
Make a CAS card for a family member. It doesn't have to be a December holiday card. It can be a card for a birthday, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc. But it must have a title (mother, husband, son, etc.) It is also okay just to have the title without the sentiment. The title does not have to be stamped. It can be written or computer generated.

I didn't have time to make new cards. Here's a sample just using the title without the sentiment.
Challenge #2 Winners & Challenge #3 directions

Winners & DT Challenge #3 posted Saturday, Nov. 27 @ Noon (EST)
Sorry for the delay. I have a house full of sick people and forgot what day it was.
Holiday Giving:Gift giving and sending cards with heartfelt sentiments are popular traditions this time of year. This is an inspiration challenge. A gift or a card does not have to be an image on your CAS card. It doesn't even have to be a holiday card.
Choose one of the following photos as your inspiration. (attachments)

For some reason, as soon as I heard the "Decoration" theme, I thought of this Hero Arts stamp set with the bird carrying an ornament. Normally, it takes me a million years to come up with an idea.
For this first challenge, I created a few cards today!!!!
here we go --
the 'decoration' for me meant beautiful embellishments and gorgeous ribbons on my cards!

I wish I could play this round. I'm getting ready to move and I won't have my supplies for most of this DT term. So this time around I'll just cheer everyone on
Ok, here is my ONE entry....we are only allowed one, right Jen? I made 2 today and came back and read more sloooowly, lol! I am tickled to get to enter this time, I always forget the deadline , so thanks Jen!! Good luck everyone, love seeing everybody's take on the challenge too!
This sounds like so much fun. I will be out of town during the times, so I am unable to participate this time. Have fun stampers!! I can't wait to see what is posted. Great challenges, Jenn and Team!!

Yeah, it feels like that for me too! We've been here barely 2 years; but we knew that going in. This next move is "permanent" (the quotes because, with my husband, no location is permanent, lol). We're off to Colorado. I'm very excited about this move!

My Gallery CAS Summer 2011,2012,2014 Challenge - Guest Designer
Thanks jen for the reminder for these challenges. I've been so busy with all the wonderful Hope challenges that I haven't had the time for CAS ones here. Been looking in just the same.
Here's a quick little card I made up when I got home today
How fun....thanks Jen for the reminder. I finished my card tonight, but will photograph tomorrow in natural daylight and upload. Love all the entries so far :p

Congrats! You do realize they have had snow already? LOL We should be making our move to warmer waters next summer....Florida baby!
I thought it would be fun to try this challenge again, so many of you talented CAS stampers are a great inspiration!
What a great theme, thanks, Jen. Here's my card.
