Wow! It was a BIG surprise to be contacted by Lydia and asked to be a Dirty Girl and play along with the Dirty Dozen for the next six months. To have my work recognized among the many, many other wonderful talented artists on splitcoaststampers.com is a great honor. I floated around on Cloud Nine all day.

My name is Betty, and I live on the beautiful sunny California Central Coast with my wonderful husband and one very spoiled miniature dachshund, Mia. I am retired, have one son, and two delightful grandchildren. I am happiest in my art studio creating my own little masterpieces, and designing cards, scrapbook pages and dimensional art.

I have been drawing and painting most of my life but discovered actual paper crafting and stamping around 2000 when my sister sent me a lovely card she made at a SU workshop. I decided then that when I retired, I would look into this simple easy medium and devote every day that I could to creating some form of paper art.

I fell in love with card making because I could have fun playing with a wide variety of mediums and paper and have loved every minute of it, especially teaching classes at local arts/crafts stores and at workshops. In 2011 I joined Stampin' Up as a demonstrator and I have had the honor to meet so many wonderful people and have formed many friendships.

I continue to paint watercolors, pastels, and acrylics and love learning new tips and tricks from fellow artists. Outside of art I have a passion for our small village, the beach, antique and junk stores and all of nature.

I would describe my style as eclectic, finding ideas, style, and taste from a broad and diverse range of sources and I'm ready to get dirty!
