Wood Mounts in the MISTI

by Dina Kowal

Use blocks to create a corner jig for your stamp positioner.

Supplies

  • Stamp positioner (MISTI used here)
  • Duplo blocks - 4 rectangles, 2 squares
  • Wood mounted stamp (All Night Media 780J Classic Pooh used for demo - discontinued)
  • Cardstock

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Using Duplo blocks, create a right corner with two rectangles and a square.

  2. Add a second layer of blocks, beginning with the square, to alternate the blocks and give the corner piece more stability.

  3. Step 2

Position the jig tightly into the corner of the stamp positioner.

  4. Step 3

Lay a wood mounted stamp onto a cardstock panel where you want it to be stamped. Slide the cardstock under the jig until the corner of the stamp is aligned with the inner corner of the jig. Secure the cardstock in place with a magnet or tape.

  5. Step 4

Ink the stamp and realign the corner with the jig, pressing straight down onto the cardstock. Reink and restamp as needed.

  6. Step 5

When you are satisfied with the stamped image, use it to complete a card or other project.

Art Impressions still sells a small acrylic jig that should work if one doesn’t have blocks. Their Stamp Positioner is $12.

I have rubber stamps that were removed from their blocks. Does anyone have solutions to using them in my Misti?
