by Bonnie Sharp

Embellish a note pad perfect for a back to school teacher gift.

Supplies

  • One 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" memo cube
  • Stamp Set (here, Teacher's Apple from Papertrey, Ink
  • Two Sheets Colored Cardstock
  • One Sheet White Cardstock
  • 1 1/2" Circle Punch (here, Marvy Scalloped Extra Jumbo Craft Punch)
  • Border punch (here, Stampin' Up! Scalloped Border Punch)
  • Ink
  • Blocks
  • Strong Adhesive
  • Paper Trimmer

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Stamp apple image repeatedly on white cardstock with red ink.

  2. Step 2

Punch out image with circle punch and set aside.

  3. Step 3

Use paper trimmer to cut two strips of red cardstock to 8 1/2" x 2 2/4"
    and two strips of green cardstock to 8 1/2" x 1 3/4".

Use a border punch to cut scallops along both edges of red cardstock strips.

Adhere green strips on top of red strips to make two separate bands.

  4. Step 4

Adhere punched apple images onto one of the scalloped bands in a pleasing manner.

Mold the bands across the memo cube, centering band across the top as in photo.

  5. Adhere the two bands together.

Tip: You will need to trim the second band a bit for a polished look.

  6. Step 5

Decorate as desired and slip band onto cube of paper.

Great gifts for teachers and the decorations are cute. These can be easily color coordinated with your school colors. Little mascots also can be placed on the sides. So neat!

I will be making these for my daughter and others. She is student teaching and she can give them to her second grade team. Do the instructions omit stamping on the sides of the memo cubes?

Janet, I guess the stamping falls under step 5 to 'decorate as desired'!

Debbie - Amazon has blank cubes. Other stampers have had their memo cubes custom made at a printing store, where they can cut the papers to size and add the glue 'binding.
