On-Stamp Ink Blending

Get smooth, blended, multi-colored images using the MISTI and silhouette style stamps.

Supplies

Step-by-Step

1. Step 1

   Set up a silhouette/solid stamp image, either cling or photopolymer in your MISTI.

   

2. Step 2

   Ink your image with a dye ink, and stamp it, multiple times if necessary to get good coverage. Leave your stamp in the MISTI, and be sure your cardstock is back in the corner of the MISTI - you will be stamping over this first image.

   

3. Step 3

   Using a blending brush, apply a second, darker color of ink in a gentle swiping motion to the stamp, and stamp it over your original image, reapplying ink several times if needed to get good contrast.

   

4. Step 4

   Repeat with various color combinations of ink.

   

5. Step 5

   Finish the card.
