Faux Heat Embossing

by Lydia Fiedler

A simple way to get the look of heat embossing on your die cuts.

Supplies

  • Dies (Picket Fence Studios Seriously used here)

  • Cardstock

  • Packing Tape (Scotch quiet release tape used here)

  • Die cutting machine (Altenew Blossom Used here)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Cover a piece of cardstock with clear packing tape.

  2. Step 2

Burnish the tape with an old credit card to adhere it completely and give it a uniform appearance.

  3. Step 3

Place your die onto the side of the cardstock with the tape, and run it through your die cutting machine.

  4. Step 4

Remove the excess cardstock from your shiny die cut.

  5. Step 5

    Finish your card.
