Faux Metal

Make your own metal embellishment with a few layers of embossing powder.

Supplies

  • Metallic Embossing Powder (here copper)
  • Heat gun
  • Versamark™
  • Stamps
  • Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Powder Pal® (optional)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Ink stamp with Versamark™ and set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Completely cover cardstock with Versamark™.

  3. Step 3

    Cover cardstock with metallic embossing powder.

  4. Step 4

    Heat embossing powder with heat gun until melted.

  5. Step 5

    While embossing powder is still hot, add more powder over the cardstock.

    Heat again until melted.

    You will need at least 4 layers to make the embossing powder thick enough for a good imprint.

  6. Step 6

    Heat cardstock again until the embossing powder is hot.

    Working quickly, press the stamp into the embossed area.

  7. Step 7

    Heat cardstock again until the embossing powder is hot.

    Working quickly, press the stamp into the embossed area.

  8. Step 8 (Optional)

    Trim images, leaving a small border around each piece.

  9. Step 9

    Finish your card.
