Distressed Edge

by Beate Johns

Rough up the edge of your cardstock for a distressed look

  1. Step 1

Take the distressing tool and slide it over the cardstock edges, applying a little pressure.

  2. Step 2

Continue to slide your tool over the entire cardstock edge.

  1. Other Distressing Tools
You can use your fingernail to distress the edge.

  2. Or slide a bone folder over your cardstock edge to get the distressed look.

Here's a quick video demonstrating how to distress cardstock:

Yay - a left hander showing how to do something! I was actually wondering if I should be using my distressing tool with the paper upside down, as I wasn't getting quite what I wanted but I don't think I was pressing hard enough. Go left handers!
Thanks for the tute - will try out the other ideas too - and have heard you can use a fork too.

I like this idea, I think I will try it.
Just comment on left handers. My dad used to tell me that since the left side of the mind controls the right side of the body and the right side of the mind controls the left side of the body, left handed people are in thier right mind!
