Diaper Fold Pouch

by Beate Johns

Create a cute little pouch out of one piece of paper.

Supplies

  • One square piece of lightweight card stock or double-sided patterned paper

  • Scoring tool

  • Embellishments (optional)

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Fold paper in half diagonally.

  2. Step 2

Take one of the lower corners of your triangle and fold it over to the middle of the other triangle side.

  3. Step 3

Take the other lower corner of the triangle and fold it over to the middle of the opposite side.

  4. Step 4

Take one layer of your top corner and fold it down to create your pouch.

  5. Step 5

    Decorate and fill your pouch.

Variations

    Change the filling
Add little note cards instead of candy.
Make it an envelope for an invitation.

    Change the size
Make it smaller to add it to a card front.
Make it big to hold a lot of goodies.

I am absolutely smitten with this diaper fold. I took my MIL some cookies dressed up all pretty in a 12x12 diaper fold and she was happy. The nurse came in and was all gaga over it...so I made her 5 for her daughter and her daughter's roommates. Thanks for a wonderful, quick creation that gets lots of oohs and ahhs!!!

Interesting. I like the "origami" very much. Think it's a Japanese name for paper folding. Will make one for my little items on my office desk.

Several have asked, what size paper. Any size will work as long as it is square. THe larger the paper, the larger the pouch.
