  1. Glitzy Goodness

    By Beate Johns

I was excited to review the new Smooch Glitz. I seem to have sparkles all over me for days when I use loose glitter. I like it when the glitter is mixed with some kind of binding that prevents it from flying everywhere. The new Smooch Glitz does that perfectly. And, what's even better is the little brush applicator inside each bottle. It's easy to put just the right amount of glitter exactly where you want it to be.

I received six of the eight colors available, and I have to say that I LOVE the softer colors. I love Smooch Glitz Frost. It looks gorgeous on paper flowers and wings. Because the Smooch ink is clear, the glitter colors all look great when paired with similarly colored images. You simply color your image, then brush with Smooch Glitz. It won't alter your colors, and it adds just the right amount of sparkles.

I will definitely use this product more often.

  2. Glitz and Glam

    By Rose Ann Reynolds

Before I began making my own cards, I always seemed to gravitate to the greeting cards with pretty sparkle. I am excited to have been given the opportunity to try the new Smooch Glitz, so that I could make some sparkly designs of my own.

I received six different colors to use on my projects. When I attempted to open the bottles for the first time, I thought I was going to have to call my husband in. They were rather tight, but I did end up managing to open them on my own. You really need to give them a good shaking to allow the glitter to mix well before you use them. As soon as I opened a bottle, I recognized the applicator is pretty much the same as a nail polish brush. There was no detectible odor, which is a plus for me with my sensitive nose. I applied a layer of Smooch Glitz to my design, and noticed that it dried rather quickly. I wanted a little more sparkle, so after the first layer dried, I applied a second. If you like more sparkle, just keep layering it on. This stuff is so easy to use, and I love the variety of colors!

I've used loose glitter with a separate glue source in the past, so I was wondering how the Smooch Glitz would be in comparison. Not only is it less messy, it's much easier to use, and doesn't fall off my projects!

If you like to add a little sparkly glitz and glam to your designs, go ahead and give the Smooch Glitz a try. I believe you'll be surprised how easy these are to use, and you'll love the beautiful results.

  3. It’s a Snap!

    By Colleen Schaan

Those of you who know me, know I’m NOT a big fan of glitter. While I like the look, I hate the mess and the dry time. And loose glitter? Don’t even get me started! So when I found out we were doing a review of Smooch Glitz by Clearsnap, I was somewhat less than enthusiastic… until it showed up at my door! I opened the package and out came these adorable little “nail polish” bottles – sparkling brightly in the sun. I admit… I had a moment of weakness for the shine and sparkle. I mean… the colors are absolutely beautiful. Maybe, just maybe this would be my chance to fall in love.

I fell immediately for the colors. The gorgeous jewel-tones of Mystified and Lime Twist are spectacular. The deep red of Firecracker is stunning and the metallic sheen of Goldrush and Starlight are eye-catching. But my favorite was the “non-color” of Frost. The icy clear holographic twinkle is just what I want for many of my projects.

The second thing I like is the ink color. It’s clear. That means that I can color up an image with my Copic markers and then add a touch of glamour with a layer of Smooch Glitz. While the colored glitter shines brightly, the clear ink won’t hinder or change my colored image at all.

So what has me finally singing the praises of glitter? The delivery system… those bottles are first and foremost CUTE. Second, the brush is tiny enough to get into small areas and I can use it to add a nice, thin layer of sparkle. Because I can apply a thin layer, it dries very quickly. If I want more glittery color, I can add more layers.

I’m also excited because I can use Smooch Glitz on a number of surfaces… from paper, to glass, to plastic, to metal, to fabric… ohhh, the possibilities!

    It’s a snap! No mess, no fuss… I think I’m in love!

  4. Sparkle sparkle sparkle

    By Lori McAree

We received Smooch Glitz from Clearsnap to review. The colors are beautiful, super sparkly and very eye catching.

I really like how easy it is to use the Smooch Glitz - the brush is a great size, easy to get into small areas for a touch of sparkle as well as cover large areas. It spreads well and goes on so smoothly. To really make the colors pop, I colored the images with coordinating colors and applied the Smooch Glitz over the area. I played around and I found I liked a single layer better than multiple layers, but either way it is beautiful.

You will love how sparkly Smooch Glitz makes your project.

  5. Totally Smoochable

    By Heather Jensen

I received some adorable little bottles of Smooch Glitz to review. The bottle is shaped like a fingernail polish bottle with a brush applicator. It is clear Smooch ink with colored glitter. The brush is specifically designed for the Smooch Glitz. It comes in 8 colors I received 6 colors. I can tell you now that "Frost" Smooch Glitz and I will be great friends from now on.

I colored a pretty butterfly with Copics and using "Frost" Glitz, it was glittered to perfection. I like the amount of glitz that it added to my image. It was not overdone or gloppy. The consistency was very smooth and did not clump. It dried pretty fast, but I am not sure if I added too much, my butterfly did bend a little after it dried. I can see myself using the Frost, Starlight, and Gold Rush Glitz quite often. I am not a colored glitter kind of girl. Maybe during the holidays on some fun projects the colored glitter might come handy.

Overall I was very pleased with the product I reviewed. I would definitely buy it in the store if I happen to come across it. The quality was great and the handy bottles are a big plus.

Questions and Comments

What do you think? Leave your comments and questions.

The Smooch Glitz sounds great, but I’m wondering how it compares to Stickles which is also glitter already in a glue.  I don’t want to buy a new product that is essentially the same as one I already have.

Hi Susan,
both products are similar, but there are a few differences.
-Smooch Glitz comes in a clear ink, not glue.
-It can be applied really thin with the brush, making the drying time faster.
-All Glitter colors come in clear ink. Stickles colored glitter comes in a colored glue. That makes Smooch Glitz great for adding glitter over colored images. It won’t change your coloring, just adds colored sparkles. Does that makes sense?

Another comparison I’m curious about—-Smooch Glitz versus Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam.  They are both clear paints with sparkle…any differences that you know of, Beate?

I haven’t tried or even seen the Glimmer Glam.It does sound like they are similar. Does the Glimmer Glam come with an applicator brush? I love that about this product.
