  1. What do your Splitcoast friends think about their ScrapBox?

    By Splitcoaststampers

I have had my ScrapBox for about four months (testimonial from October, 2010) and I LOVE it. The table is a little on the small side, but I don't work on any large projects so for me it's perfect, plus it also forces me to clean up a little before starting anything new. An added benefit of having the ScrapBox, that I hadn't realized before, is I now spend a lot less on supplies. I had a lot of things that I had forgotten about or couldn't find. Now, that isn't an issue at all!

If you have a large ribbon collection you really should invest in the ribbon storage box. I didn't do that, but I do plan on getting one once I dwindle my supply a little. Right now I have three of the large boxes on the left hand side holding my ribbon. That's a little much, really. lol

I'll agree with another comment that I read about labeling the boxes right from the start. I actually took that a step further for myself...I color coded. So paper labels are blue, embellishments are yellow, sewing supplies are red, etc, etc. I utilize all the different sizes based on what I have on hand, so having them color coded really helps me pick what I want at a glance.

I couldn't believe how much stuff I was putting in my ScrapBox when I started to stuff it full. I actually have some empty bins that don't have anything in them right now. And one of the bottom left bigger bins is reserved for my cat to nap in while I'm crafting. lol

Seriously, if you get the opportunity to buy this I would recommend it. Assembly of the unit itself, while time consuming, really wasn't that difficult. I spent a day assembling the unit (this was off and on) and then about half a day putting in the shelf clips and zipping the bins together and putting in the bottom bits. After all that hard work was done I had a great time filling it all back up. I used post-its to label at first and then changed to what I would want them to have permanently after I was done.

We checked in with Nadine several weeks ago to see if she was still enjoying her ScrapBox. We're happy to report that she still thinks The ScrapBox (and its contents) are one of the most cherished possessions in her apartment.

It's been almost two years since I've won and received my ScrapBox. I had given up my craft room so that my little girl could have her own bedroom and my Scrapbox became my new crafting area.

Even after all this time, I am still amazed at how much stuff my ScrapBox holds. It gives me plenty of room to do my crafting since I don't have a dedicated crafting room for myself anymore. With the ScrapBox, the space is optimized and I have all of my things organized and within reach. I have each one of the drawers labeled for easy organization. I've included several pictures of my ScrapBox in the product gallery so you can see for yourself.

When company comes over or when I’m finished stamping, I just fold down the table, close the cabinet and slide the ScrapBox in the corner. This way it keeps my stamping items under wraps and away from my children.

It's really a great product, and I'd like to thank The Original ScrapBox and Splitcoast for giving me the opportunity to win. I use my ScrapBox nearly every day and I love it!

I absolutely love my WorkBox. How did I ever survive without it? My house is out in the country and is very dusty, however my papers aren't exposed to the dust and sun as they were before. No more fading! The fact that all of my creative tools take up less space is remarkable. The same amount of things now taking up a 1/4 of the space, just blows me away. My husband and I share the room that is supposed to be a family room (now my studio) and he appreciates that it is a piece of furniture and not a bunch of plastic totes of all shapes and sizes. I love it, love it, love it!

I cannot ever thank The Original ScrapBox and Splitcoaststampers enough for my workbox. I am now starting a campaign to get The Original ScrapBox to make a cabinet with 1" drawers for our stamps.

The unit , as shown, looks sensational.  The only thing missing is the price for the unit as shown.

Josie Welsh   |  Wed Oct 19, 2011 at 4:57 AM

Hi Josie - Pricing for each of the ScrapBox furniture pieces are listed above in the right column - under ‘what you’ll pay’. Thanks, Lori

I live w/my daughter and this box would be just the thing as I have a mini bedroom/living area in the basement with not much room for all my crafts.  I am 71 and love making cards for all occasions.  This is a dream storage and work center.  thnx for sharing the info.

This is a dream-come-true in one unit!  And I thought I loved my Stickley chair!!!  My craft supplies are in piles and assorted boxes everywhere.  Even when I try to stack them neatly, it all comes undone when I actually do work.  Thanks for making this fantasy piece.

Laurie   |  Wed Oct 19, 2011 at 8:30 AM

I have had my Minibox since May 2010.  I bought it slightly used from a friend who quit paper crafting to pursue other dreams.  It is a solid piece of furniture and has a beautiful finish. I immediately found a space for all of my scrapbook papers, clear stamps, stickles, colored pencils, fibers, adhesives, misc., gel pens, scrap paper, ink refills, stencils, embossing powders, Flower Soft, brads/eyelets and that is just with the MiniBox!  It has been my best purchase since I started stamping/scrapbooking in 2005, and even my dear hubby was impressed with all it can hold!  The worktable is a fabulous 37” x 32” and it is amazing how I can spread out as I create my projects. Granted right now it looks like a tornado hit it due to some deadlines, but knowing I have drawers and pouches where everything is labeled makes cleaning up a breeze.  I cannot recommend the MiniBox enough I would almost get a second one for storage and more tabletop space!

Uncompensated opinion—Got the big one for Christmas and LOVE it.  Two thumbs up.  I now know where everything is.

Joan B   |  Wed Oct 19, 2011 at 6:16 PM

the scrapbox will be great to win, then I wouldn’t have all my stamping supplies spread all over the house.

mary   |  Wed Oct 19, 2011 at 8:39 PM

It would be nice to stamp without having to look for my supplies! It would also help to keep the children out of my stamping supplies!

Teresa Saathoff   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 9:20 AM

Well like most you just make do with what you have and what space you have. I live in my office/scrap room and there are two of us in an 8 x 10 at best room. tables, plastic bins and before scrapping took over, my love made and hung a 9 cube storage out of wood and hung. Intended for and used for baskets of fabric then. Now, well there isn’t space enough 4 more scrapping stuff. But we are content to have someplace to call our ‘own’..... My computer and cricut expression are inside an office armoire that houses printer, laptop, supplies and the pull out desktop holds the cricut. If I showed a pic some would be claustrophobic!

Functional but awkward…..!!

Chris Archuleta   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 9:22 AM

I live in a 3 bedroom mobile home with 2 men and 2 boys.  I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator with no storage for my supplies.  They sit unorganized in reusable shopping bags and Ihave to fumble through everything everytime I need to find something!  This would be ideal for me to finally have a chance to get organized!  I would LOVE IT!!!!!!

Melanie Murrin   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 9:51 AM

I would love to win “The Original ScrapBox”.  I have no where to keep my things in one area.  It would keep it all together.

Glynda Wedlund   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 11:05 AM

I recently starated sharing space with my ill 84 yr old mother. It is she and her mother that gave me the blessing of being a crafter. When I was a child regardless of the holiday or occassion, my mother would require that in addition to giving something bought as a gift, something “made” must accompany it. A lesson well learned, as friends and family now expect something handcrafted!  As a result of new living arrangements I have scrapbooking stuff all over the place. I spend more time getting it together than actually crafting! Organization like this would mean the world to both of us. It would allow more time to do the crafting that she, that we so enjoy!

Crafty Kathleen   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 11:41 AM

I would absolutely think I was the luckiest person on earth if I won one of these.  I have wanted one for a long time, but just can’t afford one of them. My scrap supplies need organized so badly.

Clara   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 11:48 AM

What an awesome storage system…beautiful cabinet that hides your supplies neatly. 2 1/2 years ago we let our oldest son, wife, and granddaughter move in with us in or small home. We thought it was going to be for 6 months but with the economy, they are still with us. They have another child now as well. I am not complaining as we love having these babies in our home but my scrap booking supplies are being taken over by toys. I would love to win an organizational cabinet like this.

Mary   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 12:14 PM

This would be the most fabulous win as I would love to have a space that was just mine, but that could be so elegant and tidy when closed. It is a whole craft room in a compact space and a beautiful piece of furniture too. Crafter’s heaven!

snazzyoriginal   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 1:51 PM

Our house gets smaller each day as my 2 boys, grow, grow, grow. As a result, there is less and less room for my stamping supplies. I am currently using our dining room buffet but it always is such a mess with little hands “helping.” I would love to have my own storage and work space. Thank you for the opportunity to win a ScrapBox.

Sheri Jackson Wahlin   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 5:58 PM

This looks fabulous!  How fun and wonderful to have everything in one spot with a spot for everything.  And my cats wouldn’t be scattering my supplies on the floor all the time!!  Thank you for the info!

Michele J   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 6:55 PM

These cabinets are so-so cool.  My crafts are in a small room and something like this would really make my crafting life so much easier !!!

Charleene M McCreight   |  Thu Oct 20, 2011 at 8:18 PM

I usually don’t send an email because I never win but one just never know until you try and try again. So I would love to win one. My stamp room is a mess and cannot seem to get it organized. I love how everything is there in one spot for you.

Liz H.   |  Fri Oct 21, 2011 at 12:40 PM

Wow this is so cool, winning this would be just awesome. This would definitely inspire one to create.

Zehra'sRosebest   |  Fri Oct 21, 2011 at 8:56 PM

Wow.  What a cool product.  As a new foster parent, we are transitioning those “extra spaces” into room for our growing brood.  One of the sacrifices will be my craft room.  One of these would fit beautifully in my living room.

Jodeen   |  Sat Oct 22, 2011 at 5:45 PM

This is so awesome, we are thinking of downsizing and it would be just great to have one when we move to a smaller space.  Hopefully it would hold all my supplies.  Hugs n’ Stuff,  Lynne

Lynne Hurlburt   |  Sun Oct 23, 2011 at 2:08 PM

How does this work in a carpeted room?  If it works well on carpet, I would love to have one!!!!!!!

Jennifer   |  Mon Oct 24, 2011 at 11:48 AM

I’ve had to move out of my son’s bedroom when he came home to do an internship for college.  My papercrafting is now like others said in plastic tubs and boxes stacked in a corner of our family room, next to my church workarea.  I work part-time as a church secretary and I make birthday, anniverary, get-well and cards for our homebound/care facility members.  What a treasure to have any of scrapbox products.  I’ve been looking at their products for the last couple of years….one of these days I hope to have one, Lord willing.

Karla   |  Mon Oct 24, 2011 at 2:27 PM

This would be perfect for me. I don’t have a craft room so all my stuff is everywhere in the living room. When I go to scrapbook or craft I spend more time digging in containers different closets in the house. My friends and kids tease me that I have enough stuff to open my open scrapbook store.

If I won one of these, it would be like winning the lottery.

Shelley   |  Mon Oct 24, 2011 at 3:00 PM

I have been working on getting organized and finding storage options for a while.  The Scrapbox would be an incredible addition to my space.  I’m sure it would be the best thing ever!!!

How does this storage work on carpet???

Jennifer   |  Mon Oct 24, 2011 at 5:13 PM

I love to stamp. My stamping room is in half of my laundry room. I would love the cabinet to be able to reorganize it and make a little more room. Love doing laundry while I stamp. Thanks for sharing. Love the product.

Bonne Nack   |  Thu Oct 27, 2011 at 5:52 PM

Love the organizational storage that the box provides. Having everything in arms reach would be great. I love how the shelves have “boxs” that you can see into and are able to easily label.

The advertising for the box should be -
This is not your Grandmother craft tabel.

Missy   |  Thu Oct 27, 2011 at 8:27 PM

I’ve had my Scrapbox for 2 years and love it!  And yes Jennifer, it works on carpet (although mine is quite thin).

It’s the first time in my scrapping career that I have been completely organised.  It makes going to crops or just working on a card at home so easy because you just grab the box you need and get moving.

It is more than worth its price!

Kim   |  Sun Oct 30, 2011 at 4:41 AM

I love my Scrapbox mat and always wished that they would produce in Cherry wood in a regal style! Love their products! Well worth the money!!!

Beverly Jordan   |  Tue Nov 1, 2011 at 8:04 AM

I would REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, love to win a Scrapbox!  I need help in getting all of my scrapbooking supplies organized!  Right now, everything is just sitting around in piles, and I end up buying things I already own just because I can’t find what I’m looking for and end up repurchasing.  My husband would be most appreciative if I had a Scrapbox ~ he gets tired of looking at my piles of stuff!!!

Betsy Brown   |  Wed Nov 2, 2011 at 7:06 AM

I want one of these so bad. I had always worked 2 jobs all my life.  But a few years ago I fell and broke my back in several places. I tried for over a year to go back to work, I just could not do it. (I also had lost my 24 yr old son 5 months before this, his life was taken by the hands of another) So I stay home and on my good days I scrap and do crafts. This would be so handy. Are they going to sell them in pink? I am saving my money up little at a time. Still waiting on my disability.
