Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Amy asks: "When is World Card Making Day?"
A: World Card Making Day is the first Saturday of October! Be on the lookout for special challenges, sales, and events hosted by your favorite companies. I learned that WCMD was started by Paper Crafts Magazine in 2006 as an event just for their subscribers, and was so well-loved that it became a tradition that has grown and continues today. Celebrate this weekend by making a card to share!
    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Sue responded to a recent "Ask the Artist" question with a tip: "I absolutely love matte finish embossing powders and would give anything if we had more choices to choose from. In the meantime, a good trick I was given to dull the surface of shiny embossed areas is to spread a little Multi Matte Medium glue over the top with your finger. Elmer's School Glue is also perfect for this as it is much cheaper than MMM and is available everywhere. This trick would be hard to do with line images but for larger embossed areas it works like a charm. And the fact that it is glue being applied, it stays put!"
