Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Marie asked: "Early this year I went to a craft show (in Australia) and I was blown away with the look of some cards that I saw demonstrated using fine glitter. The stamp outline was heat embossed using gold embossing power and the outline was then filled in using three graduated colours in the same tone - very pale blue, a deeper blue then dark blue, for instance, using a flexi glue. The effect is quite stunning. However, I find that I can't achieve the same result and I was wondering whether you have a tutorial for this type of card. "
A: While we don't have a tutorial for the same technique, we have a few that might work. We have the Glitter Painting and Glitter Puzzle techniques. Both of those are done with double sided adhesive sheets. We also have a tutorial called Sparkly Stained Glass. It shows working with liquid glue, but on acetate, instead of cardstock. You could use the same technique though with cardstock and an embossed image. All three techniques are fun way to work with colored glitter.
Feedback From Past Tutorials
Joy has a suggestion for the Tile Coaster tutorial: "I slightly sand the stamped writing before stamping the main image (butterfly) to give it a more worn look."
