Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Melody wants to know: "How can I clean acrylic paint buildup off of my stencils? I admit to not being diligent about cleaning everything right away when I've used it, and some of my stencils are getting pretty thick!"
A: Soaking stencils in a solution of warm water and Murphy® Oil Soap will loosen up layers of old paint nicely! I keep my stencils pretty clean but my brayers are pretty well coated, and the Oil Soap does the trick every time, even multiple layers. Just follow the suggested strength on the bottle.

    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Dina has some tips for the Pseudo Soot Stamping tutorial: "Distress Oxides did not work for me on mirror cardstock - they started off ok but ended up beading. Best results were with Brilliance and Versafine Clair. Memento Luxe was fine as well as other the pigment inks I have from ColorBox, though those are taking longer to dry. Do not heat set mirror cardstock with an iron! The foil will bubble."
