Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Linda C. asked: "How is blocked collage done? I've seen some cards with that technique, but the technique is not explained."
A: This great technique was a
technique challenge
last November. It's a form of reverse masking. Check
here
for our tutorial. We have some beautiful blocked collage samples in the
gallery.

Feedback From Past Tutorials
Karen Tuck has a tip for using Letter Patterns for the kissing technique: "I have experimented quite a bit with these and found that if you ink LIGHTLY with craft ink onto the background and then press GENTLY with the alphabet stanp it works pretty good. The secret is not getting ink into the 'groves' that make the pattern either by too much ink from the inkpad or by pressing too hard with the letter and squishing ink down into the grooves that way. If you do it 'just right' it is a very cool effect."

Head out to the craft store for Armour Glass Etching Cream and something glass (a plate or a glass ornament will work well). Make sure to have glass cleaner, any color embossing powder, and adhesive backed contact shelving paper at the ready, too.

It's gonna be cold soon, and you'll be wanting something just a little heavier. The Splitcoast Logo Hoodie has a full zipper and pockets, while the Signature Fleece is fitted and great for everyday wear.
