Q: Kathy asked: "I have some chalks I would like to use but I can't find the "sealant" needed to protect the chalks from smearing. All I can find at my local stores are spray adhesives, no product called sealant. What can I do?"
A: When I have to seal projects, I usually use matte acrylic sealer. I purchased mine at Walmart in the paint and sealer aisle. Also, look for products labeled "fixative."
Feedback From Past Tutorials
Tammy has a suggestion for the cupcake topper tutorial: "You can also use a product called rice paper. As the name implies, it is made from rice and is edible. I buy it at my local baking supply store. I have used whole sheets of it to decorate with stamps and then place on sheet cakes. Works especially well with fondant frosting. This could be tweaked to use with cupcakes - just cut the paper as needed after stamping and stick into the frosting."
