Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Anita asks: "I want to make 5"x7" lunch cards and want to use my smaller embossing folder. What can I do to make them look great?"
A: Since most folders are 4.25"x5.5", you'll need to place them sideways and run the card through twice. Place the folder at the top of the cardstock panel with the fold on the long side, then change the position of the folder after the first pass, matching the pattern if possible. If you're interested in making a purchase, Darice does make some 5"x7" folders, which I love... and Sizzix has a line of folders called Textured Impressions Plus that are 8.25"x11.75". I hope these options help!
Feedback From Past Tutorials
Prissequito has a tip for the Ice Rink technique: "Such beautiful results with this technique... sometimes I like to pick up the embossing paste with a wooden coffee stirrer or skewer."
