Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: cnbehrendt asks: "When I die cut something, the diecut image surface has all the tiny lines from the cutting plate on it. How do I avoid or fix this? My plates are well used, but not horrible, for sure!"
A: There are two possible solutions. 1) Always keep an uncut, clean plate on the bottom when you cut, and position your dies blade up. This will keep a clean, unmarred surface against the open areas of your die where the cardstock is exposed. (Bonus - it prevents warping too!) 2) Put a sheet of text weight paper between your die and the plate when you cut. This will keep that surface from pressing into the cardstock. Hope these tips help!
    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Andrea has a tip for the Ice Rink tutorial: " If you don't have the shimmer embossing paste, you can always mix glitter into either white embossing/molding/modeling paste or clear gel medium. I would recommend quite a bit of glitter for a good bit of shimmer--great way to use it up! "
(Dina's note: You can sprinkle glitter on top of wet embossing paste, too!)
