Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: mzs asked: "I have seen a couple of shadow box cards on the site and would very much like know how to make one. Could you please give us the instructions?"
A: Sure thing. Take two 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" pieces of cardstock. One will be your front, one the back. Score both at 3/4", 1 1/2", 7" and 7 3/4". For the front, fold the scores valley, mountain, mountain, valley. For the back fold them the opposite mountain, valley, mountain, valley. Cut a window in the front piece. Stamp an image on the back. Decorate as needed. You can vary the sizes, too. Try a tiny one by using 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pieces of cardstock and 1/2" increments for the scoring. Check this
beautiful sample in the gallery.
