Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Mary Ann asked: "Whenever I stamp on watercolor paper, the image never comes out sharp. Do you have any suggestions?"
A: There are different types of watercolor paper. The surface of the paper is different depending on the type. Try buying hot pressed watercolor paper - it is smoother and will make it easier to get a perfect stamped image on it. You can find more information on the different types of watercolor paper in this thread.

What ink pad are you using right now? I like to use Black Palette Ink for coloring on watercolor paper. Or I stamp my image in black pigment ink and emboss it. You can find a great discussion about black ink pad preferences here.

    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Diane has a suggestion for the Stamping on Candles Tutorial: "I also successfully used a paper napkin image. I used a napkin which had small butterflies printed on it. I cut out a butterfly and peeled away the layers of napkin until I just had the printed layer left. I then melted it onto the candle - it looked great! Another tip I found on a different tutorial was to put a small amount of glue stick glue on the candle and stick the image to it before melting. This also worked well."
