Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Sue asked: "I loved Mel's Distress Watercolor Dry Embossing technique and immediately tried working with it myself. However, no matter what method I used or how light the pressure, I wasn't able to keep from inking the background when I used the brayer to ink just the raised portions of the embossed panel. I therefore cannot figure out how to keep the background from getting inked. I would really appreciate any ideas you might have on how to keep the VersaMark on the raised embossing only. "
A: You do have to use a very light touch with the brayer. If that doesn't work for you, try inking the embossed part with a Versamarker. It will give you more control than the brayer.
    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Marilyn has a suggestion for the Dryer Sheet Flower: "I place the dryer sheet between two sheets of wax paper to give it a little more body. Then to cut with a die I place it between two sheets of cardstock and then cut. It cuts much cleaner. The dryer sheet still takes the sprayed ink well, but needs to dry a little longer. "
