Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Sherry asked: "Could you share how you are using the Grand Calibur in making your cards? Do you use it as a base and then attach the folded card or cut it on the fold? I got one for Christmas and am still a little intimidated by it!"
A: Don't be intimidated by the Grand Calibur! Embrace it. I think you are asking me how I cut shaped card bases. If that's the case, here is how I do it. Cut a single layer of cardstock with the die you want to use as your card shape. That will be your card front. Fold a big cardstock piece in half and cut that, making sure the folded area is slightly inside the die. This will ensure that the hinge of your card base is not cut. Adhere your card front to your card base to hide the hinge part.
    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Rosalind posted a suggestion for the Double Embossed Enamel tutorial: "When using the heat tool try heating from underneath the card. It takes a bit longer but gives a smooth, glass-like finish to the embossing powder."
